Sorry Ian, didn't work for me and i left the program running all night.
I take it the sync your referring to is Sync with other devices??
I don't have that added worry, just my PC. in my dinosaur world phones are for speech and texts only.

Microsoft Sudoku has once again lost my progress on daily challenges. Please advise when this issue will be fixed and my progress will be restored.

Sorry it did not work for you. Perhaps I should hav mentioned that this solution only worked after following earlier advice on this question which I repeat here:
Open the File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar to go to a specific location on your computer:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker
Delete any accounts and cache folders that you can see at this location.
This restored my game progress history for the month to the point that I lost my scores. I have also unistalled any thing related to the Xbox app. This does not appear to impact any of the other MS games like Solitaire.
The message that I get after a wait reads something like RESTART REQUIRED as a banner followed by a message that the game has lost sync. There is a large button to press labelled RESTART. I have had the same message come up on my Android phone version of the game so it does not seem device specific. Good luck.
Forget this17 Feb "solution" - after it, Sudoku was working fine until 17 March and then it once again just stopped saving any Daily Challenge acheivements.
I have tried the "solution" again, and all other recommendations (uninstall - reinstall / wsreset.exe / resetting Sudoku from 'Apps' / deleting Tokenbroker Account and cache files / running Store and App Troubleshooters / Install Xbox, and then using Xbox to install a fresh MS Sudoku download / etc etc
And throughout all this, MS Solitaire and Mahjong have remained working without a problem!
So I will now GIVE UP with MS SukDodu - I just do not want to waster any more time on it.
Exactly as I did with Minsweeper many years ago.
If Microsoft can't be bothered to fix it, I can't be bothered to play it.
Over and out
After trying the original "solution " of clearing the cache without any luck, I spent the rest of February using my old Windows 10 laptop to keep caught up; Sudoku has been working fine on 10 saving daily to the cloud. March came in without a fix from Microsoft (and really folks, programmatically HOW HARD CAN THIS BE???? to get a solution that works for everyone). But I digress. The 7th of March, now having become really tired of having to use two computers to continue my 3 year perfect record that I am very proud of, I took a step back and tried the original clear the cache solution on the 11 laptop and Surprise!!! it worked. I waited till now to post this and am hoping I am not jinxing myself that the issue will recur. Just a thought to try the original solution again if you are able. I will continue to check if Microsoft comes up with another solution that will work for everyone but am keeping my 10 laptop just in case.
The sync I was refering to is the sync of the Sudoku game on a PC etc. with the cloud! What we need is for MS to provide a manual button option in the game's setting rather than have to reply on their dodgy software! Best wishes. Ian
