I solved the problem on my game loss by always doing the puzzels in order by the calendar day. If I miss a few days, I start with the oldest one. I haven't lost a game now since February. I wanted to really test it before posting. I also always solve them left to right. I can't say that had anything to do with it. But I'm not going to mess with my system now since it works.
Microsoft Sudoku has once again lost my progress on daily challenges. Please advise when this issue will be fixed and my progress will be restored.

2024-05-19T06:54:03+00:00 Went through a week of trail and error and this seems to be a solution (at least on my computer):
Open Sudoku, go to your profile through the 'Profile button' (level and name button), new screen opens, click My library, click your installed game Sudoku, click the green button 'Play' on the right side, Sudoku opens again and you can play levels and the progress will be saved. (Leave the 'Profile screen' open during play). After you close Sudoku and re-open with the green 'Play' button progress has been saved.
I tested it many times and if you start from the green 'Play' button my progress has been saved every time.

2024-05-14T16:24:11+00:00 Hi Guys,
Surprised that I got it working OK today. IT saved the progress for 5 days. I closed the game and reopened and did all 5 days separately. here is whatt I did.
YOu should have indtalled xbox and Sudoku and logged into xbox and microsoft store with same userid.
Then open microsoft store. Search for Microsoft sudoku.
It may show 'Play' button. Wait for 2 mins. Check the version you have. IF it is not 2.9.50xx, an 'Update' button will appear.
Click on update and let the update progress.
Once it is over, you are ready to play.
Ensur ethe version is 2.9.5081
