But you shouldn't have too for a security update, a company the size and scope of Microsoft with its highly skilled staff shouldn't be pushing untested updates on customers that simply don't work.

The problem is that tens of thousands have this Windows update problem and all the fixes to start with none of them work. Running troubleshooters (nothing). Or the Dim, sfc and to thinking that most all (99%) have no idea how to perform nor will do so in putting line after line to see if this fixes it. Instead Microsoft Windows 10 should be fixed by the ones giving us this bad update. The question is will this go away or are WE now stuck with a bad update program? The word is now out to do nothing because doing something that may get mixed up will only make things even worse then they are. The partition most have no idea if it will work, causes more problems by mistakes. When all we want is for someone to fix this bad update and go on with our lives with a good working PC. No one wants to have a daily error problem on their Windows 10 PC.

Agree completely that Microsoft should fix the problem. Seniors like me don't understand the instructions for the fix and don't want to mess up their computer by attempting to follow all this jargon. Since it is a security fix, I'm especially concerned my computer could be a hackers target. Surely Microsoft has enough genius's that can get it done.

I have this problem:

or offline volumes cannot be shrunk. The selected volume may not be shrunk or shrinked. Select another volume and try again.
