The Instruction at 0x00007FFBCEAC3ACA reference memory at 0x0000000000000024. The memory could not be written.

Click ok to terminate the programme.

I use windows 11 23h2 this happened after the latest update, and happens at shutdown.

sfc /scannow, ran it three times. I do not know what to place on the command line to run

DISM. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth does NOT WORK. I am frustrated, and nerves are getting bad.

I am NEW to windows 11 and just installed it on my High End Gaming Computer. I am frustrated, after gaming, seeing this

when I shut down.

I NEED HELP NOW please.

I cannot run DISM, till I get the correct command line sequence.

    Yes, I actually posted that a few pages back as I was experimenting. I have one for restarting as well. But, it didn't stop the error popping up if you just log off. You need a third script with the /l at the end. You can even put them off the desktop, and send shortcuts which can have custom icons that represent what they do. However...

    With the group policy and script, it becomes totally invisible because you log off, or reboot, or shut down normally, without any changes to standard behavior. Don't sell yourself short. The group policy changes I posted are really simple to do and undo. Ad you only need one short script in a batch file.

    No my system updated fine.

    I finally got KB5034848 to install correctly after doing a repair install of Windows. Now, I never get the explorer.exe error unless I have my Bluetooth XBOX controller powered on when I sign off/reboot/shutdown. I also cannot have anything plugged into a USB2 port.

    USB3 and USB-C are ok, even with my WIRED XBOX controller plugged in. So if I don't use any USB2 ports and have my Bluetooth XBOX controller turned off I never get the error. I can turn it on and back off, and it's alright when I shutdown or reboot too.

    I hope they acknowledge there is a problem and fix it soon. I have a solution for myself, but some people don't have the time or patience to mess with this nonsense.

    no, i have fast startup disabled in windows and in bios.

    edit: I did like your approach to restarting explorer prior to a shutdown/reboot though, so I've added those to desktop. thanks for that.

    I do not leave my controller plugged in at all. I get this error regardless.

    i am uncertain if they see this thread. but i would guess this problem would eventually effect more people if they dont take care of it. so we see
