Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Try something else. With the recovery partition absent, run reagentc /enable and install the update. Then create the new recovery partition, yes, of the same size, and run

    reagentc /disable

    reagentc /enable

    Sounds like you are not shrinking your OS Partition properly (hopefully you have some room to do this on the OS Partition). Try starting over, before you do read through the 30 pages of comments, you will see some that give some additional info on the process, and some suggestions on the wrong commands. If you have an MBR Drive, you need to do some additional steps as the Partition ID setting is not quite right. It is also possible that reagentc is not working at all because of missing files.

    You could download the Mini Tool Partition program and do the shrinking and expanding and ID change with it. These steps are free and kindof easy. I could send you my response on how to manually make the changes in Dispart, not sure what page it is on. If your not so up on working with Diskpart, you may want to do the method below. Be careful either way to assure you do not loose your Windows Programs (apps).

    Another suggestion:

    I read this method online and it seemed to make sense . This guy recommended reinstalling Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool . It worked for him and it worked for me . Essentially you will reinstall the latest version of Windows 10 which , for me , made room for all the updates that come with the new version installation . It took me 5 hours but all updates downloaded successfully after the reinstall. You go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10  and you want Create Windows 10 installation Media and then Download Now . I DID NOT DO A CLEAN INSTALL . I opted to keep my files and apps (but backed up everything before I tried this not knowing the outcome ) . I went to the control panel to verify that (KB5034441) had indeed downloaded . Success! My logic for trying this was that Microsoft would ,in the latest version , anticipate the amount of space needed for existing updates , including the problem child , (KB5034441).

    Sounds like you are not shrinking your OS Partition properly

    It sounds exactly like a recovery partition before the EFI System Partition to me. Partition 1, disconnected from drive C. No point in shrinking C from the right end. It's that case KB5028997 just does not cover. You may put a lot of effort into shrinking and moving everything from the left end, but then why if shrinking can be avoided entirely.
