Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

I had the same issue, but decided to resize NTFS partition by using MiniTool Partition Wizzard Free https://cdn2.minitool.com/?p=pw&e=pw-free 

I am not associated with MiniTool in any way, however using this free software is by far more easy and convenient than typing commands, therefore anyone could apply the fix.

Simply select WInOS partition and decrese (resize/move - right click above the partition gives menu) it by minimum 250 MB (or larger) then move FAT partition to the left (if exists) and than again resize (increase) NTFS partition. Mini Tool will require restart to apply changes.

And Voila - it shoud work :)

Still hasn't been fixed, just tried to install it several time with no luck!

I don't think they are going to fix it (as in an Update that fixes the partition size without cmd prompt intervention).

So far the easiest suggestions I've see are -

• if your not comfortable with resizing the partition with command prompts (and even though I done things like this many time before it's still something I don't look forward to), find a free partition management tool (like MiniTool Partition Wizard) to resixe the partition.
• try the update - if it works, great
• if is doesn't work run the cmd prompt at an elevated level/as administrator and at the prompt type reagentc /enable and try it again.

Good luck and yes, this should be a fix from MS that's a one-click. I guess they consider the command prompt the solution.

I am thinking the fix for Microsoft is LINUX.

If you are running a computer (as I do) with out WinRE (no recovery file) then you will get this error. The recovery file can´t be changed and not damaged as it´s not existing. Se info on description for KB5034441=> Summary

This update automatically applies Safe OS Dynamic Update (KB5034232) to the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) on a running PC to address a security vulnerability that could allow attackers to bypass BitLocker encryption by using WinRE. For more information, see CVE-2024-20666.

NOTE If your running PC does not have a WinRE recovery partition, you do not need this update. To verify if you have WinRE enabled, you can run the following command in an elevated command prompt: reagentc /info

If WinRE is enabled you will see Windows RE status in the output with a value of Enabled.
