When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).
I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.
When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.
Any help would be appreciated.

2024-02-17T19:58:34+00:00 Ditto, you are right. Especially since doing all these things likely will make no difference. Even when you wipe your drive with a clean boot the same error will return. Likely this is somehow related to the MBR / GPT type of Booting and referencing data.

2024-02-17T20:04:39+00:00 I don't think this is some hack, it is an update that just was not meant to work on the many different Win10 formats out there. Microsoft did not really do their homework before releasing a Win11 update. Kind of a gentle push for users to get new PCs t;hat are Win11 capable, and have a fresh boot of this OS.

2024-02-17T21:11:42+00:00 As Microsoft, they either support Windows 10 machines or they don't. We need to know either way. Partial or lacking support to "nudge" us to Windows 11 only makes users like me angry if true.

I seem to have a 93 GB "phantom" OP partition I can't delete or deactivate.

I've disabled Trim using this this reference: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-ensure-trim-enabled-windows-10-speed-ssd-performance Note: Be careful of the double negatives " 0 (disabled) " means enabled !
I've obviously turned off Trim and Over Provisioning in the latest Samsung Magician. I've rebooted.
And yet, the Phantom OP partition is still there. Or is it? Is Samsung Magician wrong. If so, why won't the MS Update work?
Any ideas - anyone???

I was able to move my Recovery Partition to the end of my Samsung 980 Pro physical space and upsize it from 577 MB to 1.58 GB using EaseUS Partition Master Pro (30 day license). I'm not sure how big the enlarged Recovery Partition needs to be; but 1.58 GB just happened to be a convenient size for me.
It was a little scary since I'm not at all a fan of Chinese software, but I've been happy with occasional use of EaseUS software over the years, although I admittedly uninstall and deep scan my computer right after using for privacy/security reasons.
I rebooted and tried to reinstall KB5034441 -- and it WORKED ! It did not work until I upsized from 577 MB to 1.58 GB.
I have also successfully re-established Samsung 10% Over Provisioning and Trim settings for my 980 Pro.
Looks like I am back in business, no thanks to Microsoft.
