Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

Very interesting. On my second machine that gave me this issue and where I didn't go through resizing the recovery partition, your post made me look again after multiple installation failures. And what do I find ...

'You're up to date', and under the installed updates:

You can see the multiple failures, yet...

But going to check again, the machine is again attempting to install KB503441 ... having failed 6 times previously from the above history, and then reporting all ap to date 🤦‍♂️ Something seems very wrong. Either the machine is, or is not up to date.

And the re-attempted update resulted in

This is still a problem as of 2/11/24. My computer does not have a recovery partition. I don't need a recovery partition since I use imaging software to backup my computer. When is Microsoft going to fix this issue?

Previously I posted a rather upset (angry) reply that MS could allow such to happen, with references to development teams vs maintenance teams. I forgot to mention the teams that are probably more important than both of those ... the testing teams, I have been involved in setting up test suites for new software development (years ago). I have also been a manager of QA. If MS says (as the HAVE stated) that they intend to continue support of Win 10 with updates for a couple years at least, they should darn well be testing these updates BEFORE releasing them to the general audience ... not just alpha and beta testers. MS should have a lab of various of these older systems (PCs) on which to try these "patches" before ramming them out to the general user community. Come on, MS, get your act together if you were not just blowing smoke about supporting our "vintage" systems! BTW, someone mentioned that MS did not read this list. I only found it by searching on the error message. I would hope that SOMEHOW MS people take notice of how frustrated its customers are ... and that they recognize that we do have options other than them

My computer will not support moving to Windows 11. I am not going to buy a new Windows computer to replace a computer that is working just fine. If I am going to replace this computer it might be time to move to an Apple Mac.

You can only hope that tomorrow (the second Tuesday of the month) will bring a Super Great Cumulative Update that will fix this error. I have checked over 20 Win 10 PCs of mine and friends, and none of them have been fixed by the directed actions. So, my thoughts are this is something deeper than the size of a Recovery Partition. Don't hold your breath as this could be just a taste of the end of Win 10 coming soon.
