Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

    "You may want to open (from Windows) Disk Management by typing in the Search Bar "Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions" This should open the Disk Management plug-in. Look and see what you have on your OS drive - Usually Disk 0. You will need a larger Windows Recovery Partition (Win RE). One of a size of 800KB to 1024KB is needed.     Uhm... not sure how 1024KB could be bigger than 1.25GB... Would you mind sharing your reference for this new sizing standard?

    I'm glad it worked out for you on at least one computer. I don't think having an SSD will make a difference. I have one a Microsoft instructions worked for me.

    The instructions I shared were from an earlier post in this thread when another user asked What instruction. I perhaps should have stated that.

    It was from NickCossentino on 27th June.

    1024KB will result in a Recovery Partition of 1000KB or 1GB.

    Several people have posted how to fix this error without having to mess with partition sizes, etc. It is called "Repair Install Windows 10 with In-place Upgrade" and it does not delete any files or settings, it just takes a while. Most of the discussion about it was back in May in this thread, around page 42. I copied and pasted one of the replies from there below.

    A relatively “simple” solution to the problems caused by the update KB 5034441 which worked for me (see tutorial below)

    Having used a copy of a recent Windows 10 installation, downloaded from Microsoft onto a USB, I carried out a “Repair Install Windows 10 with In-place Upgrade” which kept all of my files, apps and settings and then updated and installed KB 5034441 without the need to use Command Prompt, resize partitions, or do anything further. I am neither technically knowledgeable or that competent, so for further information please address any questions to ZEKRI Abdelhafid who’s method this is.
