Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wish I could, or at least hide the bad update, but our system administration blocks both the wu troubleshooter and any partition changes (understandably). I'm in the ranks of those who wait...will it be days, weeks, months, years?

I had the same error, read the responses in this thread and increased the size from 500 MB to 1400 MB, rebooted and the update went off without a hitch.

    This might help:

Windows 10 KB5034441 Update Error 0x80070643 (need to manually resize partitions to fix the problem)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc0JkHYH_5o

And the Microsoft support article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf

The support link worked for me. I resized my partition for the Recovery and ran the Windows Updates again. The update went through with no errors this time.

I wouldn’t risk using DISKPART, instead follow the instructions in the following link to specifically exclude this update from windows updates

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/where-do-i-find-wushowhide-found-it/30a3e799-8461-4c05-b194-ade7cba4d980

Worked perfectly on two Win10 computers. 1x GPT, 1x MBR.
