Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

    I don't think this is some hack, it is an update that just was not meant to work on the many different Win10 formats out there. Microsoft did not really do their homework before releasing a Win11 update. Kind of a gentle push for users to get new PCs t;hat are Win11 capable, and have a fresh boot of this OS.

    Ditto, you are right. Especially since doing all these things likely will make no difference. Even when you wipe your drive with a clean boot the same error will return. Likely this is somehow related to the MBR / GPT type of Booting and referencing data.

    I also did all this stuff and then some more with NO LUCK OR SUCCESS.

    Yeah I'm not doing that.  I'm not messing around with the command prompts.  I'm not moving files around on my C drive based on what some guy I've never heard of says on YouTube.   Microsoft needs to provide a fix!!!!!

    Hi,

    It seems this is a big problem.

    This link shows how to mask the problem so the error no longer appears. Not sure it this means if other updates can happen: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-show-windows-updates-windows-10-a.html The above link is the last one I used.

    Below is a good video showing how to download Minitool to adjust partition size of the recovery partition. While this is a possible source of the problem, it did not fix it for me. Also, MS will auto create a new recovery partition if the existing one is too small. I had 2 recovery partitions which I merged but made no difference. I even attempted to clean the partition but that was tricky and I am not sure I actually cleaned/wiped out the old data in it. Anyone know how to directly access the recovery partition?
