Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Were you able to complete the Windows Update KB5034441?

First, I assume you assigned the GPT Partition ID and the GPT Attributes for your new Partition properly. Read through the details of the 35 pages if you are not sure for details on how this is done. If these steps are not done right you will not have a recognized Windows Recovery Partition. The ID and Attributes can be added using Diskpart, if you are familiar with the commands.

If the Partition IS setup right then proceed. Or, proceed anyway to Hide the Partition. It will still be visible in Disk Management.

You could use MiniTool Partition Wizard (Free Version) to fix this, I believe. Download the latest version, install freeware version and start the App (Program). Likely your Boot or OS Drive is Disk1 (in this program).

Left-click on the 96 MB Partition shown on the Disk1 or the OS Drive "Z". This will highlight it blue.

Right click on the blue high lighted Partition (again 96 MB "Z").

From the menu that pops up select "Hide Partition." This will hide it from being displayed in File Manager and having a Drive Letter. You are not done yet.

This will place your request for completing this change in the Operations Pending on the Left side of the open Window. Now you have to Accept the change by clicking "Apply." Your request will be completed. You can restart your PC and see if the Partition is no longer visible.

    Good Luck.

Open diskmgmt.msc and just copy paste the window screenshot here :)

What was that 3rd party partition app you mentioned used please? You need to be accurate with these kind of operations even having a full backup.

Wow, I'm running out of patience now too. I resized my RE partition using a third party partition app to allow the update to be successful, only now to have a phantom partition which was automatically assigned a "Local Disk (Z:)" letter. I can use diskpart to manually remove the drive letter, but it comes back on the next reboot. It is the same size as the 100 MB EFI System Partition. My Win11 Pro won't let me access the partition and I'm afraid to delete it since it might be symbolically linked to the real EFI System Partition. The phantom partition seems to be benign, so I might just leave it. sfc /scannow seems to recognize that something isn't right and claims to fix it, only for the phantom partition to come back again on reboot. There is probably a very simple fix which I don't know. Discussions of removing symbolic links to files and folders don't help much. I want to remove the symbolic link to a partition, I think. Note: rmdir z:\ I just gives me an "Access is denied" error message. Maybe I'll just do a repair install of Windows 11 Pro. I'm tired of waiting for Microsoft; and for me, the problems seem to be just compounding...

This is what shows up in File Explorer:
