Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Andrew, I can't speak to that as my system is not capable of supporting Windows 11 due to the security requirements.

I think the problem is that Windows can't be updated to 11 if this error is present. That's how I discovered it.

One would believe that MS should and would want to fix this to allow people with limited time/willingness to be able to upgrade. However, it appears to be too difficult.

    I think Margot is right.

MS isn't going to put any effort into fixing this because it mostly affects older Windows 10 systems, which they are trying

to get people off of anyway. The manual process to resize the Recovery Partition worked fine for me and then

I read that this fix is only important if you use Bitlocker. If thats true, then I wasted the effort.
