Bingo, because Win10 reaches end of life on 10/14/'25. So if you don't do anything stupid to screw up your system, you'll never need this so-called "update".

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).
I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.
When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.
Any help would be appreciated.

2024-03-18T19:01:21+00:00 In addition to thinking "there has to be an easier way", if I recall it seemed like one of the instructions deleted the RE part and had you recreate it -- sorry if not remembering it correctly as again I know there has to be an easier way.
I have not played around with this problem enough to know how to restore the WIN_RE part but my memory is correct somewhere in the command script they have you recreate the partition.

2024-03-18T13:27:13+00:00 I think the original recovery partition was either 250 or 500MB and the MS advise was to increase by 250MB. Because of the unallocated space on the disk I just gave it a whole 1GB, but why was this necessary? Given just 18.4MB is actually used after this update completes, why the need to add 250MB to what is likely an existing 250MB or larger pre-existing recovery partition?
You have hit a weakness in KB5028997.
This does not actually create a recovery partition. The second line reverts the id set in line one.
You may have noticed the partition is no longer tagged recovery. Your Windows RE has been enabled on drive C due to the former recovery partition not recognized. You may run
set id=27
in diskpart right now and disable/enable the recovery environment one more time. This time the recovery partition will be recognized.
