Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

When I tried to install the windows update "2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441)" I received the error code (0x80070643).

I have already tried, restarting my computer, waiting a bit before retrying, running a memory diagnostic check, checking all my drivers for updates, installing optional updates, and running a malware scan.

When I tried to run the windows update troubleshooter it said "diagnosing problems" but never fixed them and I was still unable to install the update after running the trouble shooter.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Microsoft could care less about us as users, and there will be no fix forthcoming in my opinion.

    I have the skills and ability to fix the issue myself, but SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.

    I had the same issue and I followed the directions in the following article kb5028997 and recreated the partition with 1.5GB of space this allowed the update to complete.

    That solved it for me.

    For anyone else reading: it's very important to disable SSD over-provisioning on the OS drive using the SSD maker's tool or if you have Intel Optane (on the OS drive), make sure it's turned OFF (using the Intel app) before you resize the recovery partition to 1500 (1.5 GB), otherwise you will encounter problems or possibly data loss!

    Please BACK UP important data saved on the Windows drive BEFORE YOU BEGIN, just in case.

    You can re-enable Intel Optane or over-provisioning after resizing the partitions.

    Follow the advice at your own risk.

    So, Tuesday is Microsoft update. I installed the latest update and after the install checked for other updates. The 2H22 Security Update came up again and with I tried to install it, it errors out. Same issue as before so Microsoft has not corrected the issue.

    I am running Norton antivirus and other apps to protect my computer, so I am not worried at this point. But is making me think about moving to an Apple Mac. My family is already invested in Apple phones and iPads, so the move to an Apple Mac is not a major jump. I will continue to run my PC on Windows 10 since it does not meet the minimum configuration for Windows 11. Hopefully Microsoft is monitoring this thread and will come up with a fix. I give it a couple of months and then I will look at an Apple Mac and what it will cost to move along with software costs.

    My computer will not support moving to Windows 11. I am not going to buy a new Windows computer to replace a computer that is working just fine. If I am going to replace this computer it might be time to move to an Apple Mac.

    Microsoft has been going down the tubes for awhile now.

    I agree with what you wrote... Tell everyone to buy a MAC.
