Welcome to the club,
There was a similar issue in August with kb4566782, so I postponed updates until September patch Tuesday. When I restarted updates at that time kb4566782 was nowhere to see, KB4576478 installed ok but kb4571756 now failed in exact the same way as kb4566782.
Meanwhile I learned about the Microsoft wushowhide tool to temporarily hide updates.
When running windows update today I get the red text notice "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes" no kidding !
So hiding an update is equally useless as postponing updates.
I surely hope Microsoft gets this mess fixed on October 13.
No way I am considering clean, repair or update install.
Linux is becoming more and more attractive.
