I know, just pause updates for 7 days and pray for it to be fixed.
That's what I'm going to do, been wasting days trying to force this thing to work

I am running Windows 10 Home 2004 (Build 19041.450). Windows Update notified me that there was a cumulative update available to install (2020-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB4571756)). When I told it to install the update, it will download and go up to "Installing - 100%" and then just show this error:
I've tried the following in an attempt to fix the error:
Obviously, none of these worked so I'm looking for any other solutions to this problem. Any help is appreciated.

If I achieve anything I'll post back
Didn't work for me. I followed all the steps, but the update still won't install with the same error code 0x800f081f.
I paused updates for a month, and looks like I have to do it another month. I get the same error no matter how many times or steps I try in all the WU reset tutorials. I'm currently running off of the latest ISO, and did a clean install just this year because a cumulative update from 2019 wouldn't install on my last install.
Windows 10 is single-handedly the WORST and most constant update experience I've had in my life, and I've been maintaining computers since Windows 95. This OS as a service thing is hot garbage. Over a %75 failure rate on cumulative update packages. I absolutely hate this )*($.
i'm getting to the point where i might pause updates for eternity and switch to a mac if this keeps up.
