Hi JamesMcVoy Good day.
I am Louie, a Microsoft Community member and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I hope I can help you on your concern.
Its possible the Windows Live Mail got corrupted after the update, please perform the following below in the registry:
- click Windows Key + R (to open run)
- in the run type and enter: REGEDIT
- Go to Computer > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows Live Mail
- Create these 3 DWORD entries (if they didnt exist) or change to 1 if they exist
RecreateFolderIndex = 1
RecreateStreamIndex = 1
RecreateUIDLIndex = 1
- Restart Windows Live Mail.
Sincerely
Louie
Hi Louis,
I too having having a problem with Windows Live Mail, in my case, since and coincident with the Windows 10 update on October 2nd or 3rd. Clearly, I'm not alone, although it appears other have experienced the same problem, but beginning Windows 10 updates
at other times.
I was able to follow your instructions until I got to step four. I didn't find the DWORDs you mentioned, but figured out just how one goes about creating new ones. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm going nuts without Windows Live Mail!
Thanks,
Ralph
