Windows Live Mail stopped working after last Windows 10 update

Since the last update of Windows 10, when I open Windows Live Mail every message produces "Message cannot be displayed." I tried running the "repair" utility, but nothing changed. Is this a widespread issue? I really liked Live Mail and had a lot of messages saved that I can no longer access. HELP!

    Brilliant ! Followed step by step=my registry values were all zero. changed to 1 and all working now. Thank you so much for your help.

    There is no Windows Live Mail to click on under Microsoft.  

    My problem is that my email all of a sudden needed attention as it was not working.  I don't know my password and am unable to recover it.  So frustrating.
