Windows Live Mail stopped working after last Windows 10 update

Since the last update of Windows 10, when I open Windows Live Mail every message produces "Message cannot be displayed." I tried running the "repair" utility, but nothing changed. Is this a widespread issue? I really liked Live Mail and had a lot of messages saved that I can no longer access. HELP!

    I could not find the repair option in the registry to fix my issue ,no Microsoft live mail option 

    to change the values suggested.

    Thanks Louie,

    I got up to step 3, but under "Microsoft" there is no "Windows Live Mail" option. There is a "Windows Mail Setup". What is best course of action in this case? Do i Create the DWORD entries under the mail setup folder? How do i get the "Windows Live Mail" option back? Perhaps I need to uninstall and reinstall? Please let me know.

    The fix only worked for new e-mail,   It did not work for old e-mail I had prior to the fix.

    Can you please help?

    I followed the instructions but it does not work for me. My email is there but I cannot open them. 

    I even used ADD/REMOVE rebooted and reinstalled and my mail was still there and cannot open. I cannot even get a clean start for WLM.

    Hi Dave2828 - My problem appears to have been different from yours.  In my case, WLM was unable to send or receive messages, but was otherwise functioning properly.  I followed the instructions posted by Louis and Mke and, after two of struggling, my WLM is again fully functional.  I don't know it will fix the problem you're having, but you should the posts from Louis and Mke of the previous page.  Good luck.
