Windows Update will not work after Windows 10 2004 (OS Build 19041.450) update
After upgrading PCs to the Windows 10 2004 build, Windows Update is giving the following message: We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the Internet.
I'm seeing these types of entries in the WindowsUpdate Log:

Here are some of the troubleshooting steps I’ve done so far that haven’t worked:
- Sfc /scannow
- Dism /online /cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Ran a Windows script to reset/clear Windows update. Basically stops all the services, renames the WindowsUpdate folders (catroot2 & SoftwareDistribution) and then restarts the services
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
- Ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter
- Tried LAN and Wifi connections

2020-09-25T18:08:40+00:00 That's what I did before but there is no forum subject for Windows Update issues.
They have this listed at the top of this site:

2020-09-25T18:42:43+00:00 Er, I have not kept track of technet migrations over to general Q&A. I guess it stays here unless you are using WSUS, which you are not.
This is going to be difficult to troubleshoot without ability to get into the network. You should start by examining the Event logs for any one computer. This includes applications, system, and the Windows-Update log under Application and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows. You likely also need to capture network traffic to see if you can narrow down the point of failure. I do not know if you are equipped to handle that.
In the meantime, I'll open this up for more comments but the level of expertise here is usually not adequate enough to answer these types of questions since your issue is more tilted toward small business.
