Looks like I will be doing the MediaCreationTool and reload Windows. It appears it needs this update before it can move on to another, that is I am not sure if I can skip this update, before moving on. I will try a manual load one more time, but I am not confident it will work.
KB4566782 Update Loop
My laptop is running Windows 10 2004 OS build 19041.388 and windows update decides to automatically install cumulative update KB4566782 (build 19041.450). The installation will fail (0x800f081f) during updating Windows and Windows update automatically retry to install it until my laptop's battery dies.
How get out of this update loop?
update: We need a true solution, and please do not mark reinstalling windows 10 as an answer, dear moderators.

2020-09-02T14:10:13+00:00 I tried the manual update and it failed again. I then used the MediaCreation Tool and updated, which went smoothly. Started it before bed and the next morning did one final update and restarted and it says the OS is up to date.
Not sure how each update is rolled out, but when I look at the update history the KB4566782 is not shown. Either it just skipped this one, because a more recent update contained this update information or this update is not yet available to my PC because of some sort of metered roll out process for updates.
But so far at least, it says I am up to date and appears to have stopped the loop update as my hard disk is not cycling up to 100% usage.

I am awaiting next patch tuesday Sep 8 and paused the updates meanwhile.
