KB4566782 Update Loop

I got that infamous update loop too, always do an automatic reboot every day, it has been during more than a week, no way to break up that loop, incluiding a manual update by catalog file fails to do

Have you turned "Restart this device as soon as possible when a restart is required..." off? It's under settings -> update & security -> windows update ->advanced options. Also, you can find who is guilty of those reboots in event viewer by ID 1074

And I ended up disabling Windows Update in service.msc

The following is what I posted on my thread early in the morning of August 14 concerning update KB45666782:

I got a ready to restart message on my computer this morning at 7AM EDST. about a pending update, and it was what I thought it was -- the update KB4566782. Everything went fine.  I'm glad I didn't go through a lot of things and just waited. I thought it was a problem on Microsoft's side. 

Maybe my communication with Microsoft helped, but I'm sure they probably were aware of it as they probably stay in touch with the Microsoft Community website. Now I will email them as they sent me a case number concerning the update.

I've learned a lesson and that is just wait for them to fix a failed update after  notifying them. I have had failed updates before but just waited and the update would appear again and install. This time was different as it had an error code and I was more concerned.

PS to PeterSumm:  I notified them by internet communication with a Microsoft employee and the employee wanted to do a remote with my computer, but I said no to that so he set up a case number for me for this update problem and emailed me the case number.  Then I got a message on my computer that an update was ready to be installed and the update was KB4566782. However, Robert Mumps still hasn't received that update as far as I know as he was just going to wait too but hadn't notified Microsoft as I did. He has the same version of Windows I have (Windows 10 Version 2400). I have 64 bit, but I don't know what bit he has or if that matters. I am waiting for another reply from Robert Mumps to see if he has gotten the update KB4566782 that will install

I stopped updates for 7 days. It's an option in the windows update section. 

Basically it shuts down the wuauserv service for that period. This can also be done in services.msc.

Solved my Win10 Home (lenovo laptop) loop with KB4566782 update failed issue (was trying remove/repair .net framework 3.5, 4.8 won't help) by using reinstall Win 10_2004 from windows media creation tool.

( I download, setup from the Win10_2004_English_x64.iso file), run setup with keep data & app.

After finished with couple reboots, now on Version 10.0.19041.450 (before this was 10.0.19041.388)  kb4566782 applied automatically during setup reinstall process from the update (as I tried run windows10.0-kb4566782-x64_cb0654ccf595c514c722ba79c5aad2567ee0ff45.msu said already installed)

The only update after reinstall Win10 2004 done is KB4569745 which has installed before.
