Will Microsoft Flight Simulator support multiple monitors?

Seriously, its not more advanced software. if anything they have taken two steps backwards.

its got great scenery and that's it, nothing more than any other sim produced in the last twenty years, great world breaking scenery, and that is it. all the other sims that are out there don't have great scenery but can do much more in the way of serious professional flight simulation than the arcade game of 2020. I suppose it comes down to weather you are in it for serious flight simulation and pilot training or just a laugh at flying over your house which will get old quick.

Some people are going on and on about screen stretching as if it even comes close to what is required. what an insult to peoples intelligence.

As i keep saying i want my money back. I fly real world and this doesn't even come close to a training devise ie VFR .  id rather fly any of the other sims. eve the twenty year old sims with all the add on's are better.

did i mention it has great scenery and that is all it has.

As has been noted a number of times in this thread, the surround method suffers from quite a bit of distortion on the side monitors - basically the imagery is stretched.  For many this is not acceptable, but if it works for you thats all that matters.  I use surround with 3 monitors with XP11 and this software; with XP11 I can change the Field of View parameter to soften that effect and use TrackIR to maintain a wide field of vision, but there’s nothing similar in this MS product.  Looking forward to VR which does not have these kind of issues.  

You can span the display using Nvidia's Surround, which is part of the Nvidia control panel. 

There is something similar to this if you are using an AMD video card.

At present, FS2020 DOES NOT allow you to open new additional windows for separate instruments, views, etc., like it did in FSX.

Hopefully Microsoft will address this in the future, and make this benefit available, ... although I doubt it, because the software is designed to mainly run under an XBOX single window environment (using either a PC as in XBOX Beta for PC or on an XBOX console.)

I'm currently running FS2020 using three screens with a resolution of 5760 x 1200, and FS2020 runs fine across these three monitors which are in Nvidia's Surround (so it looks like one big, very wide screen monitor.) And this works great, EXCEPT it would be nice to be able to open up another window for just the instruments, like I could do under FSX.

Sorry Dan, the instruction should be press and hold the right Alt key,  then hover the mouse pointer over the instrument display you want to have pop out. Click the mouse and the instrument should pop out in a new window. You can move it to another monitor if desired. Unfortunately at this time it seems the resulting window is view only, ie. you can't click on it to interact with the instrument.

Try it on glass panel displays, I think it should work on the analog instruments too.

I uninstalled MS2020 as too much is missing from the sim for cockpit builders so this is from memory. Hope I've got it right. I'm going to continue to watch as Asobo roll out updates.

Thank you very much, your advice works.

I tested your procedure in the Cessna Citation Longitude.

I found it interesting in that if you Hold Right-Alt, then mouse click on an instrument, such as the PFD or MFD, then it creates a new window with the selected content (PFD or MFD) inside. Then if you do the same for another instrument, it adds the new instrument to the same window. This is as opposed to creating a new window for each instrument.

So far, I have found three instruments that one can pop out in this manner, the PFD, the MFD, and the backup instrument (the small screen up above.

I performed these tests using the Patch 2 Version, Build 1.8.3.0.

I am very pleased that Microsoft-Asobo came out with the new patch which has significant improvements.  

I am very patient, and I expect at some later date we will be able to have undockable windows.

At this time, I would like to be able to undock the ATC window and the NAVLOG, as I want to be able to move them out of my main window. At this time, when I click on the Resize Icon, the Square next to the X, the windows disappear on my current computer.
