Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 support multiple monitors?

For example, one monitor for instruments, another for front view, one for left, and one for right?

This is opposed to one view being spread over two monitors.

You can span the display using Nvidia's Surround, which is part of the Nvidia control panel. 

There is something similar to this if you are using an AMD video card.

At present, FS2020 DOES NOT allow you to open new additional windows for separate instruments, views, etc., like it did in FSX.

Hopefully Microsoft will address this in the future, and make this benefit available, ... although I doubt it, because the software is designed to mainly run under an XBOX single window environment (using either a PC as in XBOX Beta for PC or on an XBOX console.)

I'm currently running FS2020 using three screens with a resolution of 5760 x 1200, and FS2020 runs fine across these three monitors which are in Nvidia's Surround (so it looks like one big, very wide screen monitor.) And this works great, EXCEPT it would be nice to be able to open up another window for just the instruments, like I could do under FSX. 

One of the trade-offs, of going with the much, much, much more advanced FS2020 software.

    Wow, thanks for that information and for the excellent tips and advice.

    I did want a realistic type of simulator, since I am a RL pilot as well. 

    Over the years, I probably have purchased close to $2,000 worth of add-ons for FSX, including very good HD scenery, etc., but let's face it, as a sim, FSX is definitely showing its age. Like everyone else, I was greatly disappointed by FS2020. (But it does have nice graphics though! LOL)

    One of the general attributes that I do like about XP11.5, from my research so far, is the development engine itself, as far as how it utilizes more modern computer equipment, and the future potential of using multi-cores and multi-threaded PCs. This is important for me, because I'm using a high performance PC now, ... a brand new Asus x570-E Mobo with a new Ryzen 9 3950x CPU and a RTX 2080 Ti graphics card, so naturally, I want a high performance sim as well. 

    I have read various comments from across the internet about XP11 being a steep learning curve, (but then again so its actual RL flying in itself) and that XP11 is a real pain to setup and config properly, especially if you are using multiple monitors (which I am.) 

    However, since I'm using three 4K monitors in Nvidia Surround mode, I like your idea of using a Track IR. I might just try that out.

    Anyway, thanks for the tips and suggestions, and yes, I'll probably be giving XP11.5 a tryout. Hopefully that will satisfy my needs for a higher-end performance sim!

    Thanks for the info concerning XP11 with using NVidia's Surround, as I'm considering trying XP11.5 now, and see what that offers as a sim. I know a lot of people swear by it, so I thought I'd give it a try.

    BitTron - I’ve been using XP-11 for a year.  It was a steep learning curve and lots of troubleshooting, configuration and performance related monkeying about.  I spend as much time on that stuff as flying. MSFS is a lot easier to get started with in comparison.

    That said, I love it and it has way more realistic aircraft operations than MSFS.  I recommend staying with a clean 11.5x install for quite some time until you have everthing setup the way you want and you’re very comfortable with flying several stock aircraft.  After that consider addons such as HD scenery, aircraft, airports, plugins etc.  And do that gradually. VR is awesome but thats something to wait a bit on too.

    Its especially important to not customize until XP has the general release for the new Vulcan/Metal based product.  Some addon products still are not working correctly and troubleshooting is way more complex with these in place.

    Also I would recommend starting with a very well performing, current gaming rig.  Otherwise you could spend considerable time messing with the XP configuration trying to get adequate performance.

    Hope I didn’t scare you off - its a very cool sim.

    Seriously, its not more advanced software. if anything they have taken two steps backwards.

    its got great scenery and that's it, nothing more than any other sim produced in the last twenty years, great world breaking scenery, and that is it. All the other sims that are out there don't have great scenery but can do much more in the way of serious professional flight simulation than the arcade game of 2020. I suppose it comes down to weather you are in it for serious flight simulation and pilot training or just a laugh at flying over your house, which will get old quick.

    Some people are going on and on about screen stretching as if it even comes close to what is required. what an insult to peoples intelligence.

    As i keep saying i want my money back. I fly real world and this doesn't even come close to a training devise ie VFR .  id rather fly any of the other sims. even the twenty year old sims with all the add on's are better.

    did i mention it has great scenery and that is all it has.
