Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems / Clarification

Hi,

I have been struggling with getting MSFS 2020 to install!

Pre-Purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition and i have a Windows 10 PC - and so far all attempts have failed at some point over the last 12 hours of trying.

First question - what is the order of installation that should be performed from the Microsoft Store across the items that are listed there in two parts:

  1. Manage - with just one entry "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe" and
  2. Bundle Contents - that lists four sub-parts

2.1 "Microsoft Flight Simulator"

2.2 "Flight Simulator Deluxe Upgrade"

2.3 "Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe Upgrade"

2.4 "Digital Ownership"

Is there a particular order or hierarchy that these need to be installed?

i.e. do each of the sub-parts of point 2 above need to be installed individually and prior to the first part (i.e. point 1), or does installing the first (Managed) install all the others?

So far the downloads have been erratic, and i installed the first part and then launched it, it started up and then froze, and then crashed on restart. When trying to install the sub-parts, the computer just site there with "working" displayed on the sub-part line.

This is really frustrating!

Anyone able to provide some guidance or point to a set of instructions on how to get MSFS2020 installed?

thanks!

Yeah, it's too frustrating...microsoft store doesn't let me download the upgrades..Keep getting the message Code: 0x80073CF9  I installed the 10 dvd's and I can only come to "press any key "

Everthing out there on the internet is nonsense and doesn't fix the error Code: 0x80073CF9.

Waited long for release, payed Eur 130,- and can't use sim.....

    very dissapointed

    René.

Thanks have done. I don't think it is a download speed issue. The content manager is just cycling at 'downloading asobo-aircraft-b787-10-0.1.35.sfspackage' continually without downloading anything. The percentage goes up to different amounts and then resets to zero.

    Hey there, No idea123

Thanks for the information. This is something that is listed on the known issue (157881) here:

Have you tried connecting your computer via ethernet cable and restarting the download?

These automatic responses really make me a little sad because it never solves the problem.

I really hated the choice to download the game, why didn't you use the store: you need to keep the game open..consuming a feature of the machine for which only one download from the store would be ideal, and the download is extremely slow and crashing..and having to restart the game, again so ... it looks like Microsoft sold the game and only supports production with a client and the name in the game ..

PAST CHOICE.,. WERE NOT HAPPY AND I WASN'T AT THIS TIME AFTER THE MACHINE IS 24H ON AND DOES NOT DOWNLOAD HALF THE GAME, I AM GIVEN TO INSTALL ..

    Hey there, MarcelMacedo

I understand your frustration with the game. I am a little annoyed that the Windows Insider builds are not allowing the game to run for some reason - so I am unable to play the game yet.

I don't do automated responses, as I don't think they are that useful when handling each question (As each question is unique in a way).

How the game is distributed could really be feedback for the developers on their community.  Even when the game is downloading off the store, it is consuming resources on your PC/Device. But it is using less resources from the store.

    Hey there, RichardKeller2 & DavidPlatt2

That is puzzling. When launching the game, does it ask you to download anything else?

    SOLVED!

I had the same issue, I solved it connecting the PC with an ethernet cable to the modem, downloading now doesn't get stuck. It seems to work fine now. In my case the problem seems to be somehow related to the wi-fi connection.
