Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems / Clarification

Hi,

I have been struggling with getting MSFS 2020 to install!

Pre-Purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition and i have a Windows 10 PC - and so far all attempts have failed at some point over the last 12 hours of trying.

First question - what is the order of installation that should be performed from the Microsoft Store across the items that are listed there in two parts:

  1. Manage - with just one entry "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe" and
  2. Bundle Contents - that lists four sub-parts

2.1 "Microsoft Flight Simulator"

2.2 "Flight Simulator Deluxe Upgrade"

2.3 "Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe Upgrade"

2.4 "Digital Ownership"

Is there a particular order or hierarchy that these need to be installed?

i.e. do each of the sub-parts of point 2 above need to be installed individually and prior to the first part (i.e. point 1), or does installing the first (Managed) install all the others?

So far the downloads have been erratic, and i installed the first part and then launched it, it started up and then froze, and then crashed on restart. When trying to install the sub-parts, the computer just site there with "working" displayed on the sub-part line.

This is really frustrating!

Anyone able to provide some guidance or point to a set of instructions on how to get MSFS2020 installed?

    One thing that creates confussion is the installation bar telling a download speed. This is probably not the actual speed, it is a limit set by the microsoft store.

    What you get is far below. The packages you see, will try to download at a speed. If microsoft store can´t deliver.. well then things go crazy. 

    Some of us will stop the installation and some of us will try different solutions from all kinds of forums.

    Now we come to the core-probelm.

    Microsoft has no clue what they have delivered. 

    We have multiple and global users with little understanding to, how Microsoft-development are working and vise versa.

    We, as users actually have our rights, since we bought this product, but microsoft can care less.

    i believe it is about time to make Microsoft  take responsibility to what they are selling, this before they push the market.

    and you guys notice there is no client help at all, just a bunch of unpaid volunteers with various degrees of ability....I didn't pay these volunteers the price of the game I paid Microsoft, but maybe if they employed real people on a help line their profit margin might suffer.....I have a pilots licence and I have found errors in the flight modules that are laughable.....(what is this **** ZENDESK, did you ever get a direct answer to your problem from them?....I didnt

    Solved the problem here. Just needed to update the MS Store. Go to the 3 dots upper right corner and go "downloads and updates". Press "check updates". Try to install the MSFS again. It worked for me.

    THIS.  I had been unable to run the game after installing it from MS Store.  I was trying everything to fix it.  After FOUR HOURS of searching through comments and trying every suggestion, THIS is what got the game to start.

    Microsoft, my comment about your download process can't be printed on a public forum.

    Hi Kovir

    I bought the Delux edition and was unable to install it. I asked for a refund and got a refund email within a few hours.Perhaps if everyone started asking for refunds maybe Microsoft might wake up,

    make sure you are running MSFS 2020 as administrator.
