Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems / Clarification

Hi,

I have been struggling with getting MSFS 2020 to install!

Pre-Purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition and i have a Windows 10 PC - and so far all attempts have failed at some point over the last 12 hours of trying.

First question - what is the order of installation that should be performed from the Microsoft Store across the items that are listed there in two parts:

Manage - with just one entry "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe" and
Bundle Contents - that lists four sub-parts

2.1 "Microsoft Flight Simulator"

2.2 "Flight Simulator Deluxe Upgrade"

2.3 "Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe Upgrade"

2.4 "Digital Ownership"

Is there a particular order or hierarchy that these need to be installed?

i.e. do each of the sub-parts of point 2 above need to be installed individually and prior to the first part (i.e. point 1), or does installing the first (Managed) install all the others?

So far the downloads have been erratic, and i installed the first part and then launched it, it started up and then froze, and then crashed on restart. When trying to install the sub-parts, the computer just site there with "working" displayed on the sub-part line.

This is really frustrating!

Anyone able to provide some guidance or point to a set of instructions on how to get MSFS2020 installed?

This game (not simulator) should have never been released until it was fully tested and working correctly which makes me wonder how it ever got past all of the beta testers.

The refund policy is horrible for anyone who pre-ordered as MS starts the clock on the day you pre-order versus when its released. I will never ever purchase another Microsoft product on pre-order and if at all possible never another MS product.

They need to focus on the users and not just the ones that are saying everything is fine. I’d like to see the basics fixed such as the burn rates and “inop” functions and controls in the cockpit. Think about how many updates there have been since release? Some may say other sims have updates too: while that’s partially true, the other sims don’t have them as often and the fixes/patches actually work and improve the sim.

I regret ever buying this product, especially the pre-order option. Wish I would have used the money to purchase P3D v5.

I had the same problem and went to this link and it fixed it. Mine had to do with the E-mail login on x-box not being the same as the email used when I logged in to the Microsoft store.

TO ALL WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH MSFS.
1. This is a "generic" MS site, and although good enough for windows/office/etc, it is definitely NOT the best place to post MSFS issues. AFAIK, no-one from that team are monitoring this site, or if they are, they're being very quiet (unhelpful) about it.
2. Because of their lack of attention to this site, they likely don't know of your problems, so you need a new strategy.
3. Microsoft has set up its own special support site. It's at https://www.flightsimulator.com/, and you can crate an Xbox login (if you don't already have one), login there, and express your issues in the sure and certain knowledge the your issue will be addressed. maybe not instantly, but you will have it addressed.
