The installation procedure for this software is egregious!
In over 40 years of PC use I have never before come across an installation routine as convoluted, slow and irritating as this.
Poor show ASOBO/Microsoft.

Hi,
I have been struggling with getting MSFS 2020 to install!
Pre-Purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition and i have a Windows 10 PC - and so far all attempts have failed at some point over the last 12 hours of trying.
First question - what is the order of installation that should be performed from the Microsoft Store across the items that are listed there in two parts:
2.1 "Microsoft Flight Simulator"
2.2 "Flight Simulator Deluxe Upgrade"
2.3 "Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe Upgrade"
2.4 "Digital Ownership"
Is there a particular order or hierarchy that these need to be installed?
i.e. do each of the sub-parts of point 2 above need to be installed individually and prior to the first part (i.e. point 1), or does installing the first (Managed) install all the others?
So far the downloads have been erratic, and i installed the first part and then launched it, it started up and then froze, and then crashed on restart. When trying to install the sub-parts, the computer just site there with "working" displayed on the sub-part line.
This is really frustrating!
Anyone able to provide some guidance or point to a set of instructions on how to get MSFS2020 installed?
thanks!

Only way I could even get it to try and download was to follow this link
An then instead of clicking on the install/play button, there is another button to the right with just 3 dots, I clicked on that an selected "install on my devices" my Pc's name and it quickly installed what I imagine was the Digital Ownership, and where it ended up going on the Pc Im not quite sure as of yet. Right now the game is up running and downloading the 92gigs. I wont know for awhile if it worked or no but im a step or 2 further then where I was earlier..
Just a side note, if I didn't click on the 3 dots to the right of the install button and instead used that install button. It just took me back to the App which hung up like the last 100 times. Taking about 5+mins to give me an error message on 1 of the 3 files needed to download..
If I had to guess, I think there is an issue with the path directions for the Digital Ownership file. From the App its assumed all 3 go to the same file/drive location which must be causing an issue because the way I described that worked for me automatically threw the D.O somewhere on the system..
Rediculous that you should have Xbox stuff on your pc!
I don't even have an Xbox.
Besides, if you take flightsim seriously, you shouldn't play it on an Xbox.
Altough I created an Xbox account, no result.
What is the sequence in that case? First login on Xbox account, then Microsoft, then store?
Come on...
I have the same problem. When I attempt to install the deluxe or premium deluxe I get the message that the "product is not available".
Hey there, MagnusSchmitz
Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.
Can you press start key and R together, then type wsreset.exe in the run window and press ok.
This will reset the Microsoft Store app and should hopefully clear up any problems.
Hope this helps,
