Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems / Clarification

Hi,

I have been struggling with getting MSFS 2020 to install!

Pre-Purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition and i have a Windows 10 PC - and so far all attempts have failed at some point over the last 12 hours of trying.

First question - what is the order of installation that should be performed from the Microsoft Store across the items that are listed there in two parts:

  1. Manage - with just one entry "Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe" and
  2. Bundle Contents - that lists four sub-parts

2.1 "Microsoft Flight Simulator"

2.2 "Flight Simulator Deluxe Upgrade"

2.3 "Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe Upgrade"

2.4 "Digital Ownership"

Is there a particular order or hierarchy that these need to be installed?

i.e. do each of the sub-parts of point 2 above need to be installed individually and prior to the first part (i.e. point 1), or does installing the first (Managed) install all the others?

So far the downloads have been erratic, and i installed the first part and then launched it, it started up and then froze, and then crashed on restart. When trying to install the sub-parts, the computer just site there with "working" displayed on the sub-part line.

This is really frustrating!

Anyone able to provide some guidance or point to a set of instructions on how to get MSFS2020 installed?

    Members of the community have been helpful and while I’m glad for them, why isn’t Microsoft getting involved?

    While the company is bragging about the number of users they aren’t acknowledging all of the issues. And why in the world do you need so many apps to run the sim? And one of those apps (Gaming Services) accesses EVERYTHING on your PC. Please tell me what justifies that kind of invasive policy just to use the simulator?! Or why in the @#!* I need to use my XBox gamer account for a PC game??

    If I had known about these policies and issues I NEVER would have purchased this game. And if I decide to uninstall the game I’m going to need to clean out the other apps that are not necessary which were installed along with the sim (and that was a whole other issue). And it seems Microsoft picked beta testers who are gamers and not hard core aviation and flight sim enthusiasts. 

     This whole thing is a colossal mess.

    Well here we are. Just over 2 weeks after launch. I had it installed at one time after resetting windows and updating. I had 7 hours of glorious flight time over a 3 day window. Then I had to restart for another update. Now........nothing. I can launch and install "the game" which is just another launcher. After that I get the same as everyone else which is, click on the "play" button, wait a few seconds, and the "play" button reappears. Nothing happens. Been this way for over a week. What an embarrassment. By far the final product is spectacular but good lord you would think they would have tested this process before launching. Now I'm relegated to watching others enjoy it on you tube and disputing the charge on my card so I can get my money back. Yes I have everything updated. Yes I reloaded windows (again). The store only seems to do this with Flight Simulator so there is obviously a software conflict. But for Microsoft not to get out there and communicate with its customers and at the very least acknowledge this issue? I guess this is the point where they have declared their customers peasants and know that we will continue to use their product anyway because there is no competition. Too big to fail? Too big to care is more like it.
