Having updated Windows 10 today we now have no email, no option to put PC into sleep mode or shut down or even sign out of user account. This happening when I need email more than ever due to the fact I am looking for work and people are sending me interview info on emails that I cannot answer. Most updates have an effect on system but this one has really made a mess of our PC. Screens flickering, overlapping etc...just feel like throwing the PC in the bin, thanks Microsoft.

Screens flickering, overlapping etc...just feel like throwing the PC in the bin, thanks Microsoft. I had the same thing happen to me Conjovi. Flickering screen almost gave me a seizure. I was able to roll back to the earlier version of windows. They allow it once, and then you can set a time for new updates in the future. While doing that did leave some problems, I was at least able to get onto the machine. Check to see if you can go back to the earlier version for now. Are you able to check your e-mails on your phone????? If not, hoping you have a neighbor or relative who will let you check your e-mails for job interviews. Best of Luck. Update KB4571756 has been murdering my machine since yesterday. It was downloaded automatically on September 8 and since then I have been constantly getting the black screen of nothingness with a white cursor that moves and which is possibly the biggest insult as nothing else works and also the machine freezes. I simply cannot do any work at all. I have had to uninstall the update.

about being forced to install the new Microsoft Edge, I'm not sure about that. but if you have installed New Microsoft Edge on the official website first, you will not be offered to install Microsoft Edge via Windows Update. that's what I know. about the end of Internet Explorer 11 support I already knew a few weeks earlier. via the news portal. and starting from Microsoft Edge Version 85 there is a new option, namely "Internet Explorer Compatibility" at URL: edge: // DefaultBrowser as shown below. Interesting about the Internet Explorer Compatibility. I've had EDGE installed on my machine forever. I assume it came with the initial windows 10 installation. I don't know why I get so upset about the EDGE thing as Internet Explorer has always been on the machine and there is no way to remove that either. It's the constant nagging from MS about using EDGE now that bothers me. They should know it's already on my machine and not keep bugging me about it. i.e. at the top of this page: THE NEW BROWSER "RECOMMENDED" BY MICROSOFT IS HERE. [No thanks] or [Switch Now] - have to click no thanks to make the "nag banner" disappear. - (my quotes on Recommended.) As I said in a previous post, it's not recommended, it's a forced install of that browser. RE: your next post about drivers etc. Consider yourself lucky you are not dealing with driver issues as many of us are, were or will be :D I have no clue what the Kaomoji keyboard shortcut bug is. Don't think it will affect me at all. You also are MUCH more knowledgeable about computers than I am and, therefore, may be able to fix things a lot quicker than me or know ways to prevent them from happening in the first place. Note: I depend on the same Memory cleaner program and include: RAMMap by Syinternals, to prevent the Program from being moved to a Page File.

I had the same thing happen to me Conjovi. Flickering screen almost gave me a seizure. I was able to roll back to the earlier version of windows. Check to see if you can go back to the earlier version for now.

Update KB4571756 has been murdering my machine since yesterday. I have no clue what the Kaomoji keyboard shortcut bug is. Don't think it will affect me at all.
