Thank you very much. By the way I have been using the new Microsoft Edge for almost a year since version 79 RC at the Leaked link in Google Search. The reason: google Chrome is slow, web pages are often slow to respond, sometimes messages display web pages not responding. this (the new Microsoft Edge is more responsive including: smooth scrolling of web pages). I have also tried Windows 10 20H2 Release Preview via Windows Update on August 24, 2020. by joining the Windows Insider Release Preview Channel. thanks.

hi. about the Cortana App: Since Windows 10 May 2020 Update (Version 2004) the Cortana application has become a separate application from Windows 10 and updated through the Microsoft Store. no longer incorporated into Windows Search. so you can disable or uninstall the Cortana application as you wish in the Settings application (⚙). thanks.

My restore points reappeared after I went into the 1.Windows Power Shell (admin ) Right click Start click on Windows Power Shell (admin) wait for prompt, then type services.msc Hit ENTER When all of your services come up go down to Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider and make sure it is NOT disabled (it probably is). Exit and restart computer in Safe mode...your System Restore Points (dates) should be back, choose one before September 8 and let it take it's time (took a couple of hours for mine) and it will say "You have safely restored your computer" back to the given date. Hopefully, it will work for you. That is the only way I was able to recover 100%. Good luck.

go down to Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider and make sure it is NOT disabled (it probably is). TY again. Hmmm.. I have nothing that says Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider in that list. Closest thing says MS Software Shadow. I looked through whole list and nothing is disabled. I'm not going to worry about this anymore. I've made some changes to system since my restore points anyway. I also rolled back to previous version of windows after the latest update really hosed me. Not sure I even want to go back at this point. Appreciate your time always! I'm just waiting for the next forced update and see what wonderful surprises are in store.

Just the mere fact that they are constantly nagging me about it and forcing it on my computer makes me not want to use it at all. Perhaps it's better, but for that reason alone, I'm steering clear. I had been wondering about Internet Explorer (I don't use that either) but found another article that they will discontinue IE next year. It's great we all have choices and are able to use the browser we want (for now.) If you enjoy Edge, more power to you.
