Hi, Included is an image of recent updates that failed because I removed Edge several wks earlier. One of the new updates includedd Edga which I paused for 7 days. Then I got several updates & took them. MS would Edge was removed that I didn't want it & would not download/install it. Just plain old common sense. 1] How do I remove Edge & how can I prevent MS from installing EDGE again? 2] How do I get the Uninstalled updates to install? 3] What happened to the 'critical' & 'Optional' updates like in W7? What should I know about Updates so I don't run into problem like other users I've read about. Regards, klxdrt

I have Windows 10 Home 64 bit, version 2004, OS build 19041.508 After the new update, the screen saver and power saver settings stopped working. Can't guarantee this will work but have you tried to GO TO: CONTROL PANEL - HARDWARE AND SOUND - click on POWER OPTIONS - ON LEFT SIDE CHOOSE CREATE POWER PLAN - GIVE POWER PLAN A NEW NAME- CLICK NEXT - SET THE DISPLAY TIME YOU WANT AND HIT CREATE- RESTART PC****. I have not had to do this myself (YET) so can't say if it will work. It seems TOO EASY given the way MS messed things up. If you are brave and try it, let us know if it worked.

Hi, I've customized my desktop and don't want to loose it as it took a while for this non-tech 80 yr old to set it up. There has got to be a more common sense solution. MS & Win has been around for almost 40 yr & everybody is smarter, more innovative, than this 80 yr old. Maybe they haven't heard of the K.I.S.S. principle? Think paper Clip. Regards, klxdrt15

Can't guarantee this will work but have you tried to GO TO:

CONTROL PANEL - HARDWARE AND SOUND - click on POWER OPTIONS - ON LEFT SIDE CHOOSE CREATE POWER PLAN -

GIVE POWER PLAN A NEW NAME- CLICK NEXT - SET THE DISPLAY TIME YOU WANT AND HIT CREATE-RESTART PC****.

I have not had to do this myself (YET) so can't say if it will work. It seems TOO EASY given the way MS messed things up.

I THOUGHT I uninstalled Edge myself a week or so ago. It's back again. Now when I go to UNINSTALL it the box is greyed out and won't let me rid it. I TRIED to use an uninstaller program I have, and guess what? EDGE doesn't even show up in the list of programs/apps to get rid of. INSANE. That's a million dollar question. If we knew the answer to that once, we wouldn't be in the fine mess we're in now. I'd put off installing updates as long as you can in hopes they MAY fix things before the force-feed once again, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
