I would like to echo your comments WynnDoze on the impressive accomplishments of Reno and on top of that his willingness to get on here and discuss issues with individuals like me who are really really unimpressed with Microsoft.

Again I mean absolutely no anger towards the kind individuals that spend time responding on here - it is very much appreciated. I am frustrated with the company!

That may well be true but there are a huge number of windows users who DO NOT want edge or cortana. It decreases performance and persistently putting it our task bars and trying to get us to use it is actually pathetic. Give your heads a shake MS.

I am a I am also having the same problem - the <Start> button on the Task bar does not work, neither does the <Search> button work as expected, i.e., I cannot search for anything. Don't these guys test things before they let them escape into the world? Just curious, did you try to open start by hitting Ctrl+Esc. You can close the Start menu by pressing Esc. Works on my machine, but I have HOME, and I'm also not having those issues. Can't hurt to try (hopefully.) By search button, do you mean the search box? IF the MS team do test the updates, obviously not well enough!

Just curious, did you try to open start by hitting Ctrl+Esc. You can close the Start menu by pressing Esc.
