Harman Kardon Invoke speaker - can't pair Bluetooth

I just tried using my Invoke again for the first time in a while, and I can't pair via Bluetooth in order to play music from my phone.  If I say "Hey Cortana, pair Bluetooth," it responds and says it is entering pairing mode, but my phone doesn't detect it.  When I try pressing the bluetooth button on the speaker, nothing happens... the speaker does not enter pairing mode as expected.

I did not have this problem the last time I used it (probably 2-3 months ago).

I tried doing a full factory reset and setup, and it still does the same thing.  The speaker seems to be working fine otherwise... I can issue other Cortana voice commands (i.e. whats the weather, play radio station) and it responds properly.

The speaker has the latest FW:

2.0.4.067aa17.vs-ssh-main

Barracuda_libre-11.1842.0

Can anyone help?  Thanks!

Unfortunately this does not help.  while the Invoke Manual mentions WPS, it is only the last sentence in the manual "The Wi-Fi Protected Setup Identifier Mark is a mark of the Wi-Fi Alliance."  There are no instructions for using it for setup and no way on the speaker (i.e. no WPS button or WPS PIN generator).

Also the YouTube video is for a different HK speaker product and the HK app mentioned does not connect to to the Invoke at all.

I have noticed that I can connect the Invoke to my router by choosing "Setup a new device" from my iPhone's Wi-Fi setting page.  This does connect the the Invoke and provide an IP address which I can Ping, but it does nothing.  About 5 min after the connection, the Invoke just says something went wrong.  (I even tired making this connection and using the app mentioned in the video, and Cortana device setup, but to no avail).

I think you have to do it old school wifi WPS setup with your router's WPS button --- as the Invoke manual said it has Wifi Protected Setup. Basically you have to pair it with your wifi router, the APP has nothing to do with it.

Go to your wifi router's web setup page. If you still can't pair it, then temporary set up your wifi router with NO password, get your Invoke speaker setup and then turn your wifi password back on.

I really appreciate you trying to help.  I really mean that as I have been on the phone with Microsoft now for two hours with absolutely no luck (so far I have been transferred 7 times), so any help is appreciated.

I have had the manual in front of me for 5 days,  Yes, I understand pressing the microphone for 5 seconds will start setup. And then when I (and some of the others here) go through setup, at the end where it is supposed to connect, the iPhone app just says "something went wrong".

Until two days ago, I got the same response from the PC Cortana App.  As of two days ago, when the PC Cortana App updated, now I cant even start the setup process, when I type "setup my invoke", the PC App says "Sorry, I can't help with that".

It is also my understanding that one must be connected to the Cortana Service for the Bluetooth button to work.  Pressing the Bluetooth button just causes Cortana to start the setup process.  Careful review of available Bluetooth devices from my phone and PC show there is nothing to connect to, before or after pressing the button.  This is what I imagine the firmware update will fix.

So, we are in a do loop.  We need to connect to (eventually) get the firmware update, but we cannot connect.  Also, we need to connect to do a Bluetooth connection.  But with no way to connect, we are out of luck.  My speaker just sits there and every so often Cortana yells "something went wrong' for no apparent reason.

    11/25/2020 UPDATE

Spent 7 hours attempting to get help from MS.  Talked to 11 people in 5 departments, via phone and chat, in a circular finger pointing exercise that ended after 7 hours with the department I started with.   Some people were very nice and tried to help, some where not and did not.  I was hung up on while on hold 3 times and was on hold for 90 minuets one time, and offered the opportunity to completely wipe my machine and re-install windows because that is the answer to everything these days.  The final answer was (and I am not really embellishing here): "We are not responsible for this, we will not help you, we will not escalate this to a higher support tier, we will not spend our time investigating, contact Harmon Kardon support."

Read your manual, there is a wifi setup via holding the microphone button for 5 seconds. There is also a micro-usb port in the bottom.

Unfortunately the Bluetooth function (with the button) only works if one is connected to the Cortana Service first.
