Harman Kardon Invoke speaker - can't pair Bluetooth

I just tried using my Invoke again for the first time in a while, and I can't pair via Bluetooth in order to play music from my phone.  If I say "Hey Cortana, pair Bluetooth," it responds and says it is entering pairing mode, but my phone doesn't detect it.  When I try pressing the bluetooth button on the speaker, nothing happens... the speaker does not enter pairing mode as expected.

I did not have this problem the last time I used it (probably 2-3 months ago).

I tried doing a full factory reset and setup, and it still does the same thing.  The speaker seems to be working fine otherwise... I can issue other Cortana voice commands (i.e. whats the weather, play radio station) and it responds properly.

The speaker has the latest FW:

2.0.4.067aa17.vs-ssh-main

Barracuda_libre-11.1842.0

Can anyone help?  Thanks!

    Ironically/pathetically I tried one last time to get this thing working before using it as a permanent door stop using my old Windows Phone and she is finally working - only to tell me that she is shutting down for good this month lol

    I have been using my four Invokes for several years and about a month ago one of them started saying "something went wrong, you'll need to press the microphone button for 5 seconds to start setup again." and stopped working. The other three worked and still work fine.  I have tried to set the one up many times and have hunted on the internet.  May I ask how you got it working?  After I read your reply, I tried two different windows phones and the Invoke set up didn't work with either one.  The Invoke does still show up as listed on both of my windows phones, under the Cortana "hamburger menu".  Each attempt has me re-sign in with my MS account and approve HP access to my MS account check box, but then at some point I get the "can't access the service" error.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Same here. I hear that Android devices can still be used to set up cortana. Im hopimg to try this soon so when the Jan update rolls out the speaker can once again be used strictly as a bluetooth device.  Thank you!

    They are ending Cortana but they said the speaker can still be used as a bluetooth speaker. I cant get my speaker to pair either

    I got mine to work on my Note 20 Ultra, I had the app already installed from previous phone. I had to try a few times but got it to work. Now let's hope that firmware update does work. Good Luck to all. I hope this site works for you guys/gals. Invoke FAQ (harmankardon.com) I hope we get a firmware update site for those who can't get the update via wifi.
