Hi I have Win 10, and I have a Lifecam HD-3000, and the audio has a hum.
I've tried a couple of units and they are the same, so I know it's not a physical fault.
I also tried changing the sampling rate, a solution offered in other forum answers, but that didn't work.
Does the Lifecam HD-3000 simply not work with windows 10, or is there a solution to get the sound working properly ?

Read the whole thread, no solutions made much difference. I am running windows 10. My other webcam is fine.
I did notice that the hum changed depending on how I connected it to the computers. Actually found that a 6foot usb3 cable had the most reduced hum. While plugging that same usb3 cable into a usb2 port or going directly to usb2 increased the hum (louder and higher)
It's not the microphone that's the issue it's the video feed. In OBS if you remove the video feed and just use the microphone it comes out very clear without any buzzing or background noise, but once you enable the video again the buzz comes back. No solution sorry. You can either use one or the other it seems. What a scam.
You're better off just using your phone as a microphone. It's easy to set up if you look online.
Hi, I just bought one of these overpriced webcams and have the same issue. I think that a good part of the noise problem is picked up through the screen from the rotation of the hard drive. I took my webcam off the top of the screen and put it on a shelf just above the screen. Much less noise now. But yes, how dissapointing that this webcam is mass produced and has this fault. I feel like I'm being punished for not buying one of their high end webcams.
In my video I was using a Surface Pro, with no spinning hard drive.

Nothing seems to completely fix this.
However, try decreasing the level to about 76-80, it reduces the noise.
Also I am using a noise suppression filter (in OBS) so you may check this option too. Zoom also has this feature, but I never tested it.
