Yes, I changed my password to get into my email on the website as mentioned above.

I don't think people know what you are talking about when you say app specific.  Can you list the steps to resolve this issue?

Did you also change the password under the email account? A simple question & I apologise for asking it but sometimes it’s easy to miss this step.

I’m reading mixed answers with AT&T re 2-step authentication; some are saying this security feature is avaibale while others say it isn’t.

    Here’s what I’ve found:

    Check settings here:

If you allowed the Mail app to set up the account automatically then try creating it manually.

Have you changed the password on the ATT/Yahoo account to the new one?

Have you created a new app specific password? When you changed the password online you would have to create a new app specific password.

Same issue here.  Email provider in my case is ATT Yahoo.  Anyone else?  I recently changed password with ATT Yahoo to get into email website, which was when the issue started.  I'm thinking of deleting then re-adding the account.

The error code means that you require an app specific password due to 2-step authentication being active on the account.

Once you create this password & enter it under the mail app account in placeof the usual account password then the message should disappear.
