I have been trying to respond to this conversation for over 2 hours now. I can’t even write two consecutive sentences without Windoze Crashing dumping me into the JavaScript popup
or just deleting the text I have entered and starting over, or opening some obscure side tab to a site I have never seen nor have any concerning at all. But that is another flaw in M$ Windoze! It isn’t just in Edge that this is happening so I think the problem
goes beyond Edge. As one person mentioned here, they have lost their Wi-Fi passwords, which has nothing to do with Edge. NOW, Indeed edge is losing its stored data. Both Passwords and auto-fill data, but that can be easily restored from Chrome. Just click
on settings in Edge, go to ‘Profiles’ and then to ‘Import Browser Data’ From there open the drop-down window for ‘Import From and choose Google Chrome. You may have more than one user profile in Chrome (without even signing up for more than one) and import
from both. Chrome also has the ability to restore from a file that you can save from within Edge. In Edge click on Passwords and to the far right of Saved Passwords are three more dots to click on and you select, save to a file from there and give it some
easy-to-access, but obscure folder, on your H/D. You can do similar with the Auto-Fill data but it is only saved to a JavaScript file which without manually reinterring the data or modifying the Edges javascript you can not directly restore like you can with
the passwords. Now I believe that geniuses’ at M$ felt that this would create a security hole, but isn’t having Giggle installed on your computer a security hole to start with and why remove something that works and works well. If it
is insecure, then fix that, and don’t get rid of the ability to use it to start with. The logic escapes me or rather escapes THEM! Now about Windows 10, in general, losing all kinds of user data, that is just a total failure and they should remove AUTOMATICALLY
ANY new updates that caused this as this is only a one or two-month-old problem. Why jeopardize their reputation by leaving a major screw up in place. It might embarrass them a little and cost them a month or two worth of work? I think that would be a small
price to pay in place of losing customers to Applesauce or Linux. Simply put I have had stores tell me that they don't need my business and M$ has a similar mindset. and what has happened to every last one of those stores that have said that to me? They have
closed their doors due to the loss of customers. They seem to miss the fact that customers willing to try things and work on fixes on their own are the life source of their troubleshooting program. NOw the latest fix that I mentioned above, Removing the 2
part security login on 'Onedrive', it doesn't allow me to remove it all. it only removed the use of facial recognition or fingerprint recognition as an a and you still have to use 'Authenticator on the phone to open it by entering my password. funny I can't
store that password anymore so I have to use a less secure easy to remember password rather than a great Random password of sufficient length to prevent ordinary hacking. Jus in the middle of typing that last sentence it popped up the 'Save as Window' on me
and I just about lost all of this again. This is tedious at best. time to install UNIX I guess if I want a reliable, professional machine.
