Seems this may be BIOS problem. Check Lenovo site for BIOS update.
Cannot get bootable usb windows 10 2004 to work
Have rest the computer yet again for the umpteenth time
Have had one advisor on here saying my pc might not be compatable but it is only 1 year old
Lenovo Ideacentre 310s-08asr amd a9-9245 radeon r5 compute cores 2c+3G
8Gb Memory
875Gb free on hard drive
Razer Chroma keyboard
Windows Defender used no 3rd party
Have installed windows 10 to a bootable usb device 16gb
bios set so that usb is primary boot device over hard drive
Reset computer
screen momentarily shows windows logo then there is a flicker and the normal lenovo boot screen is displayed
then computer tried the usb again and the same flicker and back to the lenovo screen again
computer keeps this loop going until the usb is removed and computer then boot normally.
Previously tried windows update to no avail constantly getting error 0xc1900101 but using windows media creation tool I get
error 0xc1900101-0x20017
Have run lenovo vantage and it reports system up to date
Have run lenovo system update and it updated the AMD onboard graphics driver, that reported no other updates are required.
Ran the AMD drivers and supported and that updated drivers and AMD software
System has Office, Canon drivers and software for TS8351 installed, Google Earth, Firefox, Chrome, Thunderbird and IMVU installed. These proved not to be a problem as my 5 year old HP computer updated to 2004 without any problems.
Tried again and error 0xc1900101 occurred yet again.
The computer has been taken back to 1903 its original format and even with nothing added resulted in error 0xc1900101 and 0xc1900101-20017 using media creation tool.

2020-09-14T22:48:19+00:00 Have tried the Lenovo system update and that reports - No packages applicable to your system were found
Lenovo Vantage reports - No updates are available. Your system is up to date.
After that not sure what next to do.

2020-09-15T02:15:37+00:00 Hi,
You should not be trying to do an installation by hitting RESET first.. Maybe you misspoke and meant Restart...
What your Device Manager says about USB Controllers is irrelevant.. When booting the machine is running off what is available in Bios and is not using Windows in any way.. Once the boot is started the installation media may use included Windows drivers, but not what is installed on the machine..
Do you have a UEFI version of the flash drive appearing when you select F11 or F12 ?
Did you allow RUFUS to use it's default setting for a UEFI Bios machine ? GPT\FAT32 ?
Are you sure your machine is using UEFI Bios ? It should have an "EFI" partition if it is, and your normal Boot Device should be "WindowsBootmanager"..
If you have set your flash drive to the first boot device and for some reason it is not bootable, you will in fact end up in a never ending boot loop.. Because the flash drive is plugged in, the machine never even tries the second boot device..
As a side note.. I have recently become aware that some machines... Gateway and possibly Lenevo, require that the Bios be set to Legacy Bios to boot from installation media.. I would not tinker with that at the moment though..
It is also possible that your "Secure Boot" and "Fast Boot" may need to be disabled if you have those settings.. Fast Boot in particular can block booting from anything other than the HDD as it's highest setting..
You might try RUFUS again.. This is an image of my RUFUS window for UEFI Bios... It is probably an older version than what you are using.. I am not seeing the cluster size you mention, but that can be dependent upon the flash drive..
This is what RUFUS should look like for Legacy Bios...

Have tried updating windows 10 to version 2004 and fails to update on every occasion. Error 0xc1900101 and by media creation tool I get error 0xc1900101-0x20017.
Used system update and Vantage and no updates available. Tried clean install moving USB to first in priority and I get the windows logo then screen flicker and goes to lenovo screen and then it loops.
