I changed my user account name and now my laptop is unable to boot up.

C:\users\susan\

I didn't like my name was incomplete, it was "susan" insted of "susanta" in users folder. So i searched on internet to how to change it.

What I did: Win + r, searched "netplwiz", opened up a window called User Accounts, I select on the the only account(admin account), I click on properties, it opens up a new window allowing me to change my username, I change my username and click apply. But still the folder name is "susan". Then i can't find my account on the users list where I changed it. Then i think restart could solve my problem, But when i restart it won't boot up and can't auto repair.

Please help.please....

    Hi Susan;

    Thank you for updating me with that information, I would recommend creating a new profile user rather than modify the username because this will effect with registry keys files and could be effect changing from permanent to a temporary profile user.

    The solution is login as an admin or Administrator then follow one of the methods below:-

    Method 1:-

    • Hit "Windows Logo" and type "Control Panel"
    • Click "User Accounts" then click "Add or Remove Account"
    • Create a new account then put it as the Admin group.
    • Log-off then log-in with the new one and delete the old profile

    Method 2:-

    • Hit "Windows Logo" and type "Control Panel"
    • Click "System and Security" then click "Administrative Tools" and open "Computer Management"
    • On the left-sidebar click "Local users and Group" and Right-click on "Users" select New User
    • Create the user then Right-click the one-created select "Properties"
    • Select "Member Of" then click "Add" then click "Advanced" then click "Find Now"
    • A list will appear such highlight on "Administrators" then click OK then OK and OK
    • After that log-off and log-in with the new one then you can remove or delete the account.

    Let me know if you need any assistants

    Hi Susan;

    This will show you how to access or login on Safe Mode with Network then you can do of the methods above:-

    • Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    • Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    • On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    • Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    • When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    • Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    • Allow your device to fully restart to enter WinRE.
    • Click "Troubleshoot" then click "Advanced options" then click "Startup Settings" then "Restart"
    • After your device restarts, you'll see a list of options. The preferred option is to select number 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking
    • Once your device is in safe mode do the methods and see if you are able to log-in and creating a profile user.
