Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems

I have exactly the same problem. Keeps resetting and looping in my brand new PC built for MSFS 2020. This problem should be fixed by Microsoft asap. This is extremely frustrating.

Intel i7-10700 3.8G

32 mb RAM

RTX 2080 Super

Windows 10 home up to date.

I have the same problem, will not move past the first download. Keeps reseting and looping endlessly !!!!! This is a waste of time and money for a product that by the looks of it MANY people can't get to work !!!!

RTX 2070 super 8mb

windows 10 ver 2400

ALL updates applied

AV turned off

Firewall turned off

netsh command run as administrator

Rebooted computer several times and restarted installation. 

and so far that is the only entertainment gotten from the game. 

P3dV5 works flawlessly on this system 4k and most settings ultra so surely it is good enough for MS2020.

Same issue here. Gets about 20% downloading the same file and restarts.

Might send Microsoft the data bill yeah?

I haven't tried to download the game but was hoping to find out if anyone knew of a bandwidth limitation or if they are downloading at their full Internet speeds.  I was thinking of Increase my bandwidth if it might do any good.  I would expect traffic on the site could make a big difference..

Otherwise, the download is large and I understand it downloads the initial setup data then once that is configured, it downloads the remaining files.  A download of 90 GBs is extremely large so knowing your available drive space situation would seem to be fairly important..

We could speculate as to why the download would stop and then start over, but no way to know unless the system is monitored.   Checking Settings-Update&Security -Delivery Optimization and the Advanced Options settings and Activity monitor information might give you a clue at least when something might be going wrong..

One thing I like to do is keep the Task Manager open so I can watch the Internet graph and see if the download speed is consistent..

I suppose you might also check for QoS type settings or Bandwidth Managers which might restrict straight downloads so as to favor some type of streaming content..

So after many days. Reformatting, and realizing it would be easier to just fly a real plane. I found a fix where no other fix worked.

Download a program called Net Limiter 4.

Install and run it.

Start up flight sim.

In Net Limiter right click flightsimulator.exe and click info

In the limit box set it to 2.34 MBs , any faster the installer messes up and can't download.

Thank you for the concise solution.  You'd think this information would allow the MSFS developers to fix the issue easily.

BTW - I am using this solution to update with version 1.8.3.0 released on September 17.  Come on Devs! This should have be fixed ages ago!
