Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Installation Problems

Thanks for that, I was doing everything by WiFi as my games pc is in the living room so as to use the tv as monitor but I now have the ethernet installed. As this sim seems so temperamental I am reluctant to re-install (another 10hours) but this time I did go into the files to delete everything so as if I do it will be to a clean slate.

glad to give you my findings.   You know  out there,    must be hundreds  of guys  flying,    it does make you want to give up.   but  don't. keep watching   u tubes  a chap  named  squirrel.  he knows everything.  very interesting channel. and also  American guy   overkill.  he is u tubes and  is very  good from basics       charles

hello   and thank you for writing.    Thankfully I solved it now   and at the stage  of configs  with the    joy stick  etc. 

if I can help.  First off   don't use  Wi Fi  you must use LAN cable to your Router. this is for the installation,  I don't know about flying at the moment,  THIS IS VITAL 

  I  re installed the 10 dvd activated with the key,    and then  I signed into my store. now because I already had  flights sims attempts in the store library,  this time I signed in different account.   

I got a message   pre ordered. but the other copies of sims were not there.    and at the side of it    it said   launch.  it then asked for disc 1.   so I put that into the drive,  then it said  update  so I did, that ,  so I clicked on  update,   and it was three hours,  and then it said continue.        then it    started at welcome page.  and there was    OPTIONS    GENERAL  AND   CONTROLS    that's where I am  now.  I do hope this helps   the main problems are    UPDATE  takes forever  but it does get there.   and every time  you want to fly,  you have to go to the store and  click  launch.  I did   get   refund  from  Aea rosoft     but it took 1 month.   and I bought it again for one last try, from scan computers UK.

I am now starting to ask,   if we get  live scenery   who wants to buy   further  scenery from  any dealer.  do we get live scenery?     Any how I hope there are no more hold ups.   I have been on  since  march  pre  release. I read PC Flight  mag  every month  and for the last  year, Microsoft, never mentioned any of these things   let alone needing 10 dvds,,   charles. 

Finally , it works for me . I followed all instructions . I replaced my PC with another faster one . So, if your pc is lower than the minimum requirements , the flight simulator wont work for you . This is the reason for the download self stop and exits the download page because the computer resources were not enough.

This is how I got passed the problem. I created a guest WIFI SSID on my network. When the install would get stuck, I would change the WIFI connection. It would download the package and keep going. It would get stuck again and I would bounce back. I kept doing this until it finished.

I also had installation problems with MSFS and spent quite a bit of time surfing around for answers.  I finally was able to contact Microsoft help.  After being referred to three agent I finally got an answer that works.  Not being a IT professional here is what I got out of the experience.  Versions of Windows 10 are not equal, even if they are identified as the most current.  When computer companies purchase for install as OEM the operating systems may be altered either by Microsoft or the purchaser.  

In my case, everything appeared to be in order.  The last agent decided to replace my installed windows with a "farm fresh" version download from Microsoft.  Took about two hours to do this.   Afterwards, first attempt, the installation started and completed the install with no problems.
