When I start up the game it tells me to press any button to start. I press a button and then it tells me to insert the disk and press continue. I don't have a disk because I purchased the premium Deluxe Edition online it's bought-and-paid-for it says the game is installed but everytime I press continue it just pops up again please insert disc.

Microsoft asked me to remove the link to the iso file. This file would violate their copyrights. If you have DVD1 yourself, you can create an iso file with isocreator. This program is free. You don't need the three large files. This is my ISO-file:I hope this helps.

Gie, thanks for the update and for the explanation as to why you have had to remove the link to your ISO file.

Since I originally installed MS Flight Simulator from my 10 DVD boxset the app has invited me to download a couple of updates from the web.  The latest, (version 1.11.6.0) was installed today from the Microsoft Shop.  It seems to me that since I installed this update the flight simulator launches properly without requiring the insertion of DVD#1 from the boxset - or the need to fire up your excellent ISO file.  So maybe Microsoft has now fixed irritating "please insert dsc" problem.

I borrowed an external DVD drive to install my ten disc set as my desktop doesn't have one.

Now it asks me to insert disc - I can't I don't have a DVD drive.......................

I've paid a lot of money for this program, I've registered my code with Microsoft - are they assuming I'm a thief?

They say this problem is solved.

It is 25th November 2020 the problem is not solved.

Get on with it Microsoft!   Finally show some support for your customers......................................................

I own the disk version and get that error, ridiculous.

    Pls advise how to proceed.

A also own the disc version of the Platinum Deluxe edition. I have reinstalled the game 3 times now and still keep getting the same problem when I try to play the game " please load the disk"

Mike, As Cooljazz63_737 has already said in reply to you, the simple answer is that you need to have DVD number 1 from the ten-disc set inserted in a DVD drive attached to your Windows 10 PC BEFORE you attempt to launch MS Flight Simulator  It's no good inserting the DVD after the simulator app has started to load.

This is inconvenient for people who don't have an integral DVD drive in their PC or don't have a DVD drive permanently attached - or don't have their DVD set to hand. However, if you search on this forum (or more generally on the internet) you may find a link kindly posted by Gie Noëth which enables you do download an ISO file that provides an 'unofficial' alternative approach. I don't know if any of the links are currently active, but if you do manage to download this ISO file it can be used to 'trick' your PC into thinking that DVD#1 has been loaded - so you don't actually have to load it.

If you do manage to get the ISO file the process is as follows: (1) store it anywhere convenient on your computer [eg., on the Desktop or in the Downloads folder] and then (2) double click the ISO file every time you want to use Flight Simulator - BEFORE attempting to launch the simulator app.  Some people have complained that the ISO "doesn't do anything", but they may not be understanding its function.  When you double click the ISO file it creates a temporary 'fake' DVD drive/disc (that is visible if you crank up Windows Explorer). You don't need to do anything with this fake/virtual disc or the files it contains.  The point is that the fake disc does the same job that the real DVD#1 would do if you had loaded it.

Please note that the above solutions only apply to the DVD/Disc version of MS Flight Simulator in situations where the app stalls during loading because DVD#1 is not in place.  You are probably aware that there lots of other solutions to the "please load the disc" glitch where it is caused by other issues - such as interference by anti-virus/firewall programs, date inconsistencies, lack of digital rights, etc, etc. Hope this helps.

Apparently you need Disk 1 inserted to run the game even if you have the 10 disk version. I leave disk 1 in one of my drives and it works fine. Stupid I know.
