When I start up the game it tells me to press any button to start. I press a button and then it tells me to insert the disk and press continue. I don't have a disk because I purchased the premium Deluxe Edition online it's bought-and-paid-for it says the game is installed but everytime I press continue it just pops up again please insert disc.

I signed up for the X Box Game Pass before the MFS 2020 release date to pass the time playing Wolfenstein until MFS 2020 came out. I purchased and downloaded and started playing MFS 2020 with no problems. Both games are listed as owned in my Xbox Game Pass.

I cancelled Game Pass before the second month billing.

THAT is when MFS 2020 started asking me to "install disc one" before letting me play.

I just tried resubscribing to Xbox Game Pass (at $4.99/month - the $1.00 a month PC/Console combo jumps to $14.99/month the second month!) and NOW IT IS NOT ASKING FOR THE DISC!

It is criminal that this work around forces me to pay $4.99 a month for something I already paid full price for, but I'm willing to pay $4.99 to play for the next month while Microsoft sorts this mess out. (I have put in two call back requests with customer service, estimated call back times of two minutes and 44 minutes, never received a call back either time).

Once I disabled Windows Defender Firewall AND BitDefender Firewall, it no longer asked me to insert the disk.  the installation continued.  Definitely frustrating to have to poke around and find those settings, but this thread gave me the clue and it worked for me.

I turner both Windows Defender and Bit Defender off. Still asking for disc

Maybe you could provide your email address?

I have provided my email address ([Removed by moderator]) to GN on September 6th and again on September 7th. So far there has been no answer. If anybody else has been sent the ISO file by him, could you please forward it to me?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the tip - I finally got around it another way which which I think was suggested somewhere in this thread:

I subscribed to the Xbox game thingy, $1 for the first month (will unsubscribe before the second month) and started "Play" the sim through this. It immediately went into an update, asked about disabling Windows defender and worked fine after the update was done. This install has been the most difficult and ridiculous of anything I have ever experienced. It's hard to believe a company like Microsoft launched the sim with so many flaws in the first place.
