Never had this problem on Xbox I have this problem on PS4 yesterday trying to play GTA v with my cousins and then it says insert disc when I bought it online so I don't know
Flight simulator please insert disc???
When I start up the game it tells me to press any button to start. I press a button and then it tells me to insert the disk and press continue. I don't have a disk because I purchased the premium Deluxe Edition online it's bought-and-paid-for it says the game is installed but everytime I press continue it just pops up again please insert disc.

2021-01-21T23:59:15+00:00 I just had this happen to me. Did some quick digging around on it.
I closed the app. Opened the Microsoft store app and clicked on "Downloads and Updates" from the "three dots" menu and did all of the updates.
NOTE: NONE of the updates had anything to do with MSFS 2020.
After doing the updates though, I restarted the game and it started normally.

2021-01-21T22:56:20+00:00 Hi there I'm having the exact same problem, bought the premium deluxe edition with digital copy. Installs in seconds which should take hours with the size of the game. Game starts then always says insert discs ????
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall this same issues?
Are you still have same issues this morning
This worked for me. I put in a FSX disk and when the popup window came up I just clicked on "continue" The program took right off.

2021-01-19T19:16:04+00:00 Error message "please insert the Microsoft flight simulator game disc".
I got this message when I installed ‘bitdefender’. The firewall in bitdefender blocks the flight simulator 2020. To prevent this, go to ‘Protection’ > Firewall > Setting
Under ‘Default application behaviour’ select ‘Edit default rules’ For WiFi select ‘Allow’ from dropdown selection and select ‘Ok’
The FS2020 will load without the above error message!
What also triggers "please insert the Microsoft flight simulator game disc" is when you update the bios on your motherboard after you install the simulator. The simulator then thinks you've installed it on a different pc. Stupid, but true. This copy protection is several years old, and was a nightmare on older windows versions. Change bios, new hd, new graphic card etc. and the copy protection thought it was installed on a different pc. So several years later when it re-appears in a brand new flight simulator it's plain stupid. And why copy-protect it at all when it has to be online all the time with a genuine microsoft account?
How to fix this? I don't know. It happened to me when I updated my bios, and I had to revert back to the last one to fix this.
And a little tip at the end:
Check updates regulary on Microsoft Store. (Click the 3 dots in upper right corner and select downloads and updates)
So far I have received 3-4 updates here related to the simulator included a update for digital ownership which is a important part of the copy protection. Try this before you decide to uninstall/reinstall the simulator and see if this fix the problem.
