Flight Simulator 2020 PC code edition is asking for start DVD despite of digital owner installed

Hello,

I ordered and installed the FS 2020 version with the PC code.

After FS 2020 I installed the digital owner add-on (can be only installed afterwards).

But when I start the FS 2020 then a screen is appearing to ask for a disk that I don't have.

What can I do to get it started?

First of all, thanks to all of you guys for suggestions.

I've managed to run the installation without inserting CD. After exploring many unsatisfied posts around the internet, i've came with a solution.

-Disable antivirus (some people find this working alone, not for me, but try it)

-Create iso file with 0x0409.ini file and put it in a virtual drive.

    How to create ini file:

You can find many answers that this worked for many guys, but this ini file is found on DISK1, and if you don't have DVD at your PC/Laptop, you need to get this file.

I've managed to make it by myself so here is the procedure:

    Open notepad

paste text form this link inside:

    https://contents.driverguide.com/content.php?id=487514&path=0x0409.ini

    go to file/save as

Change bottom dropdown in save as dialog from .txt to all files

name your file 0x0409.ini and put it on desktop.

Install powerIso (poweriso is virtual drive emulator, small but powerful program, highly recomended)

After installing and restarting, you'll get virtual drive in your My Computer

go to your desktop, find 0x0409.ini file, go right click - powerIso - Add to Image File and select iso file format from dropdown list

Finish creating iso file, it will appear probably on your desktop, and have a yelllow cd icon

right click on that icon - poweriso - mount to drive []

Try running instalation again from Windows Store. Worked for me.

Also, this could work for booting without your DVD if you have boxed version installed.

    Hopefully this helps to someone!

    Cheers!

An easy workaround for FS asking for Game-disk 1 :

I do own all DVD's and created an .iso file with the name MFS DISK 1. (used ISO Workshop for this)

The file contains the contents of the original DISK 1 except (!) the (huge) data2.cab, that is not needed.

MFS DISK 1.ISO has a size of 12 Mb.

Just mount it once in Windows 10 and FS works great without the DVD in the drive.

Update: Did some more investigations and found that only ONE file is needed in the ISO :  0x0409.ini  (22kb)

The others are not needed at all.

Workaround: Create an .iso image of DVD 1 but leave the 'data' files out of the image. The size of that .iso will be appr. 4 Mb

Eject the DVD and put it into the box.  Mount the MFS DISK 1.ISO and start FS2020..... works great!!!

    Microsoft Flight Simulator

Known Issue: Some users seeing a "Please insert the Microsoft Flight Simulator disc" error when launching the game on Windows 10.

Workaround: In order to play the game digitally on Windows 10, you will need to have the Digital Ownership File installed as it is required to grant the necessary permissions to play. If you already have this file installed and are running in to this error, please uninstall and reinstall this file only and this should resolve the issue. There is no need to uninstall the entire 127+GB base game files. Uninstalling this small 10MB file is all that will be needed.
