I have a i9 5.Ghz with 32Gb Ram, Windows 10 Pro, Nvidia RTX2080Ti and even when I put the graphics on low as recommended with Nvidia Experience the game crashes with error  Critical Process Died!

I have benched my video card and all Games run perfect and high settings and never crash.

Understanding that this game has to render many objects in any given scene which is understandable however when I cannot run even at a low settings is not exceptable please get me touch of support to get a refund of this game please. I purchased the most expensive opition.

Most disapointed

Make sure your temp. limit is set higher than 85C.

I had the same problem, couldnt figure it out at all... I restored everything too default --> nvidia settings

I use GPU tweak to manage my settings. go back to basic and use furmark to get it optimized.

After all, the problem of me having a limited degrees set on the video card was the trick.

I tried everything what you guys told.

    Set-up

    gtx 1080 ti OC

    i7 8700k

    32gb ram 3600 MHZ

SSD 500 GB --> special buy for flight sim 2020

    Hi John

Thanks for your reply but I did check that I had the right driver in "Device Management".  It's the driver from NVidia which says that it is OK for MS Flight Simulator 2020, that is 452.06.  As you say, in device management there are a few other numbers added, but it is definitely the right driver.  I reloaded it direct from NVidia just to make sure.

Thanks JustFly2020 for the ideas - I tried them all and got a little further into the game (able to switch off vsync), but then it crashed again and I couldn't go any further.

Here is an update about my request for a refund so that others are aware of the miserly and monopolistic approach taken by Microsoft.

Microsoft have a policy that you can automatically get your money back after 14 days.

    My dates are:

    10 August 2020 - pre-order

18 August 2020 - download (on launch of product)

30 August 2020 - rejection and request for refund

That's 12 days on my reckoning.

But trying to save a few dollars, Microsoft are saying it's 20 days because the 14 days starts on the date of pre-order.

When does the 14 days start?

I think the 14 days starts on the date of download or at least on the date of first availability.  That seems to accord much better with legal principles concerning warranties and consumer law.

The terms and conditions of the policy here do not say one way or the other:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-billing/buy-games-apps/digital-game-purchase-refund-terms

This has been a most frustrating experience and this is just adding insult to injury.

So, to all you troubleshooting geeks (myself included ;), all the workarounds you list here are great to read....... But insane to implement!  I own hundreds of games, and they all work just fine, if not awesome with the PCs we all have. We're gamers, and spend the extra money to truly enjoy the best gaming experience. And, we are rewarded when we buy a game that lets us experience it in its full capacity because we spent the money on a great PC.  It's rare that any of these games crash like MSFS 2020 is doing. I refuse to do any workarounds just to play this game...... Microsoft, fix it!

(I'm landing from the soap box now, pun intended ;).

For me I finally found the problem: I stopped using bluetooth mouse and keyboard and used wired. Since then no more random crashes...
