I have a i9 5.Ghz with 32Gb Ram, Windows 10 Pro, Nvidia RTX2080Ti and even when I put the graphics on low as recommended with Nvidia Experience the game crashes with error  Critical Process Died!

I have benched my video card and all Games run perfect and high settings and never crash.

Understanding that this game has to render many objects in any given scene which is understandable however when I cannot run even at a low settings is not exceptable please get me touch of support to get a refund of this game please. I purchased the most expensive opition.

Most disapointed

Somewhat guiltily (I'm a refugee from X-Plane 11), I purchased the top MS Flight Simulator 2020 package, and because of the hype - I was expecting wonders which should not be missed!

However, over several days my fairly beefy Windows 10 system froze numerous times with screens of various colours whilst I tried to download the new simulator, then when trying to install it, and then when trying to run it.  However, I seemed to be progressing slowly, and my system was within spec, and I had of course done all the recommended OS and driver updating, so ultimately there was no reason for it not to work.  So I persevered.

Then maybe all those hardware resets were just too much for the system, because the motherboard just gave up the ghost.  Maybe too much strain, and no way for the poor motherboard to complain to me what I was putting it through, other than by putting an end to its own misery.

Luckily the local computer store had in stock a ASRock x570 Steel Legend, a Ryzen 5 2600 processor and 32GB of memory to suit.  Not the top end, and reasonable at AUD $805 (that would be USD $578 to you guys).

I was confident now that I could now run Flight Simulator from its own dedicated SSD (drive E:) without problems.  But no!  Blank screens of various colours at different times.  Have not managed a flight yet.  Mere crash to desktop would be nice compared with the frozen screen!  You're lucky guys!

PS.  The furthest I got with the application was when I opened it through GeForce Experience.  This is "a companion application to your GeForce GTX graphics card keeping it up to date and optimising your game settings etc. etc.".  Strangely, it lists the games on the machine and allows you to run them through the app.  I got into the various controls, cameras etc. but the controls didn't actually work this time (they did work once previously).

Wanted to give an update.  I downloaed every driver.  Every new windows update there was.

No matter what it crashes to desktop.  Also I notice that it crashes at around 41% on a particular file too.

I saw a post that said you really have to babysit this ,...  so true.

Still can't download the game tho.  EVen going so far as to getting a new laptop shipped out to just make sure its them and not my PC thats causing it.

Its a beast m17 R3. 32GB RAM   excellent graphics card.  So yeah MSFS needs to fix this somehow because I have a feeling, its still going to be them.   I will  update when I get the new computer.   All the suggestions were attempted regarding lowing graphics low mode.  Tried all of it.  haha

    Best of luck friends

I seem to get crashes under two circumstances:

    1. Lowering the graphics resolution thinking that would help, but seems to crash more frequently. Higher, ironically, seems more stable.
    2. Using a bluetooth keyboard. My keyboard goes to sleep if not used for some time (using the flight stick), hitting a keyboard key seems to require the Bluetooth re-establishing the connection and it crashes. (Interesting, my Bluetooth headphones don't work with this game (but works with everything else on my PC - I had to switch to wired headphones for sound).

Store/windows/graphics drivers are up to date.

Just noticed the same thing on audio anything bluetooth is immediately unrecognised by this game yet is working ok on everything else on the PC So another fault!.

I have spent hours trying to eliminate the crashing of the PC with this game running and nothing works. I have done everything they suggest in the copy and paste response here and more including disabling my two monitor setup, changing resolutions, taking apps off reinstalling FS2020 three times. removing and reinstalling graphics drivers.  Changing the swap file etc  Nothing gets this running stable. I have Windows 10 upgraded to v2004 from 1909 a few months ago so the only thing left is a fresh install of windows. But that seems extremely drastic just for this program and I am not even going to contemplate it. All this messing about means I've probably gone over the 2 hour refund limit so I am going to seek recourse through PayPal as this Microsoft game software is not fit for purpose so I want a refund.
