Tried both.  I had been having problems with my new computer, and reinstalled windows on the C partition.  I had an old installation of MSFS on the 2nd  partition.  After installing windows, I tried to reinstall it on the same partition, and I don't think it liked it.  I ended up reinstalling windows again (3rd or 4th time) and this time I deleted the 2nd partition also, and made it into one big 2tb drive.  Installed fine.  Still have computer problems, but think I have hardware and possible driver problems.  I have 2 issues with it, one, while flying the computer will blank the fancy LED's on the keyboard, and MSFS will just pause for a minute or so, then resume. The computer continues to function as I can open or close browsers or other apps, I just pause flying...

The other problem I have are 2 devices that device manager recognizes (as PCI Device and SM Bus Controller) but can't find drivers for. I downloaded all known drivers for my MB , but nothing seems to fit these 2 devices.

MFGr says they will issue an RMA, but the problem is, can I get a replacment?  I9 RTX3090 all EVGA system.

    Thanks for your help!

I have are 2 devices that device manager recognizes (as PCI Device and SM Bus Controller) but can't find drivers?

Sorry I not able to resolve the MSFS2020 problem but I may be able to help you find your missing drivers...

    1. Go to the Device Manager by right click on Windows Start.
    2. Double click on the missing PCI Device or SM Bus Controller device.
    3. Then click on the Details tab, in the Property menu select Hardware IDs.
    4. Copy the Hardware ID value but there might be more than one, so copy all.
    5. Now google searches each Hardware value and you should find the drivers.

P.S. The driver file will have *.INF extension and click Update Driver to manually install on your device.

Hope you find this helpful and good luck!

Just spent hours setting up and reinstalling Windows 10.  Reinstalled Steam and downloaded FS 2020.  Running the installer, and it's just doing the same thing that it was doing months ago after the first big update.  Download keeps resetting to 0% on the Cessna 152 tutorial.  I turned off wifi and am running my computer over ethernet connection, but no change.  I disabled the XMP Profile for my RAM in the BIOS, now running it at stock speed, but no change.  I'm out of ideas at this point.  Every month or so, I try to install FS, but the results are always the same.  I'm out of ideas at this point.  Any suggestions??

No suggestions, thousands of us in the same boat.  I have tried new WIn10 installs, new internet service providers, all the tricks and hacks mentioned in this ridiculously long threat and NOTHING fixed it.  Its a joke, nothing else to describe it.
